Writing a quality article is never easy. There have been those that have tried it and went away disillusioned by the results. Why? There are a number of possible reasons for this. Let's take a look at a few possibilities.

Poor quality. Folks, let's face it. The demand is for quality content. Poorly written or hard to understand articles just doesn't cut it. People demand information that makes sense and that they can use in what ever niche they are interested in.

No Clear Message. Similar to the poor quality reason mentioned above, an article that doesn't have a clear message in it will often leave the reader wondering what the article was about. That's even if they finish it at all. Odds are, if the readers doesn't finish the article, they probably won't visit the site either.

Boring. If the article is nothing but a dry presentation of facts and figures, odds are it won't get read. Many readers have a tendency to skim an article first before going back to read it again. Most readers don't want to read just facts, they want to know how it applies to them. They want to be entertained.

Presenting "just the facts" is not exactly considered light reading to the majority of readers. Keeping the reader's interest is one of the keys to being successful at writing articles.

So, what's the solution and how does one write those interesting articles?

Being organized is one of the keys to successful article writing. Being able to get your ideas across to your readers in a clear concise manner goes a long way to keeping your readers happy. With this in place, you will be able to get your message across to your readers and issue that call to action that will get your readers' interest up and keep it up.

Writing or creating an interest grabbing title is a major key. If the title is boring, odds are your article will not be read. This is the first thing your potential readers will see so try to work out titles that make them want to stop to read what you have to say.

Get passionate about what you are writing about. I don't know about you, but I have read many articles about the subject of Internet Marketing. Some promoted one technique or another as their success strategy. The articles that stood out in my mind the most were the ones that the writer was impassioned about. It was evident in how the article was written and it kept my interest.

Still others gave good information, but lacked that zeal I mentioned earlier. It was very evident in the way the article was put together. It was clear, it was concise. But there was little sparkle in it.

Another successful writing tip is to get personal with your readers. While this is not always possible, there are times and places in your article writing that you may be able to share a personal experience. It may be in the form of a tip, something you learned, or a discovery you made. The point is you are talking to your readers not at them.

Being able to write great articles does not come easily to every one. Some are gifted with the ability to express their ideas in clear meaningful ways. The rest of us have to work at it. Writing great articles is not impossible, it just takes work and development of your particular writing style. Using the tips mentioned above, you can be successful.

Profit Making Traffic. Want Some?

When we stop to consider that traffic is what keeps businesses alive. The lack there of is what kills any business whether it is online or off. Building traffic takes time and advertising. Lots of it. But how do you advertise and where?

That has been the question that has plagued webmasters since the Internet became a commercial entity. In the beginning, many used e-mailing as their primary means. Some of these went to extremes and began spamming. For a time, they were successful. But, things have changed and spamming is frowned on and dealt with harshly.

So how does successful marketers promote their sites? Here are a few low (or free) cost ideas that can help you build great traffic.

Forum marketing is one of the best ways to promote your site. Now when I say this, I don't mean signing up and spamming these sites with blatant sales ads. While there are some that do allow sales ads to be posted, most do not. So how would a webmaster promote in the forums? By adding his or her site to their respective signature file. The second point to remember is that one must be active on these site. That is the key. Getting active and remaining so.

A final point to remember here is that remaining active on these sites mean adhering to the rules. Failing to do so will often result in being blacklisted and thrown off these sites.

E-mail marketing is still one of the best ways to promote there is. It is important to realize that there is a right way to promote and a wrong way to promote using this method. Recent court cases show that unrestricted spamming is the wrong way to do this. It could land an offender in jail or paying some serious fines. Arguably, one of the best approaches is to use safe lists or what is known as double opt in lists.

Link swapping or reciprocal linking is another great way to build traffic. In this type of marketing, both sites benefit from the traffic overflow from the other. This method can also improve your ranking in the search engines. There are many who use it as a way to build their website's traffic. It takes longer, but is proven to work.

Viral marketing, unquestionably is the best way to promote there is today. Viral marketing offers great returns for a minimal monetary investment.Plus, it has the added benefit of requiring very little effort on the part of the webmaster to keep it going.

But this form of advertising covers such a wide variety of media it is difficult to pin it down. It can range from the most popular form which is affiliate marketing to other forms such as video or the giving away of free reports. Another form that is not always associated with viral marketing is called article marketing.

There are those who have based their entire success on viral marketing. They swear by it. It is one form of marketing that builds on itself. It takes a life of its own after it reaches a certain point. This is sometimes referred to as critical mass.

These three methods are among several that can build the kind of quality traffic that produces sales. Some take longer than others, but are still well worth the time and effort it takes to build them up.

The Advantages Of Targeted Traffic

Let's face it, traffic is the life blood of any business. Without it, the business or website is useless and a waste of time and effort. Yet many webmasters do not know how to get the kind of traffic they need to really prosper. As a result, many spend great deals of money on first one kind of advertising then another. After awhile they get frustrated by the lack of results and give up.

These webmasters follow a simple (if misguided) idea that if they throw enough traffic at a particular website something will stick and they will make a sale. While this idea can be true, it is an expensive way to promote. More than likely, it will end in failure.

There are two basic types of traffic to be had online. Targeted traffic and untargeted traffic. Targeted traffic is what all webmasters crave it is harder to get and retain but more profitable. Untargeted traffic is considered by many as a waste as it doesn't really get the webmaster who uses it any real sales. Certainly not enough to make any real profits.

Just think, if a webmaster is buying untargeted traffic, he may, in fact, get it. But most of this traffic will be from people who are not really interested in the products but are being paid to simply visit the site. The webmaster may see a few sales, but the odds are against it. These people will move on to other sites and likely never return.

On the other hand, if you are getting visits from people who are honestly interested in your product or service, then your chances for sales go up considerably.

How To Find Quality Traffic

The statement above begs the question, where do webmasters find that kind of traffic? The answers may surprise you.

THe biggest source of traffic to date is the search engines. In fact, some of the best means of generating targeted traffic also have the added benefit of influencing the search engine rankings. One good example of this is in the form of article marketing.

For each original content article that is put out becomes a front page for the website is represents. Strategically assigning relavent keywords to those articles can help get the articles ranked in the search engines, which can benefit the site. The articles need to be of good quality to capture the reader's interest enough for them to visit the site. Ironically, the articles will often show up in any given search before the site they represent do.

Reciprocal linking, or link trading, is another means of building quality traffic while benefiting the search engine rankings as well. The benefits to this type of traffic building come in two primary forms. The first form is through the links themselves. The website with the lower page rank benefit from the traffic overflow. The other, higher ranked, website benefits as well but to a lesser degree.

Both websites benefit to one degree or another from the links themselves as they are measured in the search engines to determine importance and ranking.

Finally, one excellent way to gain targeted traffic is to write a report and give it away. You can use nearly any media but free reports are a good low cost starter. This is one form of viral marketing. It is considered to be the best marketing technique that any webmaster can use. The quality traffic generated is the most profitable.

It is important to keep in mind that targeted traffic is sometimes harder to get. It also takes longer to get it started as opposed to e-mail marketing and the like. But the advantages of targeted traffic are far superior than untargeted traffic.

Why Use Viral Marketing?

Viral marketing is an Internet marketing trend that is being used by most webmasters online today. It is inexpensive and some Internet Marketers swear to their success because of it.

The advantages of using it are many. It requires little effort on the marketer's part to sustain it once it has been started. The reason is simple, the visitors who like the media can pass it on to others who, in turn can pass it on to still others. Hence the term "viral".

But, why would you want to use it? What would it cost to start it?

The truth is, viral marketing covers a huge area and has many methods. The starting cost can range from free to a reasonably low cost. One of the most common forms of viral marketing can be in the form of article marketing which can be free. A submissions service can also be used to get a wider audience. They are reasonably priced.

The added benefits of this form of advertising can also be in the form of page ranking in the search engines as the articles often turn up in searches before the site they represent do.

What are the advantages of using viral marketing?

Probably the first and biggest advantage is the fact that it can be sustained with little effort on the part of the marketer. What this means is that after its initial exposure, the viral portion of this will grow pretty much on its own. How? Through the visitors who have begun the process of sending it to their friends and family.

It is this viral quality that makes this kind of advertising the success it is. Of course the marketer will continue to promote his or her media product.

Another highly desirable quality is its flexibility. What does this mean? It simply means that viral marketing comes in many forms of media. It can be an e-book, free reports, video, flash games, etc. The list could go on. One thing that is a must with each of these forms is that the media must be of high quality and contain useful information.

Another advantage is cost. If you are good at producing video or writing an e-book or report, the cost can be very minimal. If not, the costs can rise. But this need not be of too much concern. If you are working with a budget, you may wish to start with something lower in cost, like a free report to give away. Paying to have a report such as this written is more cost effective than one might believe.

One form of viral marketing that deserves special mention is affiliate marketing. In this form of marketing, the owner pays his affiliates a commission for each sale made through their affiliate sales page. Obviously, the more generous the commissions, the greater the motivation will be on the part of the affiliates.

Taking a look at each of these advantages, it is easy to determine the benefits of viral marketing. The only real choice is to decide what form your viral marketing will be in. Once, you decide that, it will be only a matter of developing it and promoting it.

Easy To Read Articles That Profit

Article marketing is one of the best ways to generate traffic there is. A form of viral marketing, many webmasters use this to drive quality traffic to their sites and build on their page ranking at the same time. More and more webmasters are turning to it every day.

Yet others who have tried this have approached it from the stand point of using it as a sales letter and have failed miserably. These marketers have failed to understand that to use this method, they need to learn the language of article marketing.

When articles are written, the authors need to keep their readers in mind. There has been a suggestion made that readers only skim article for the information they need or want. What this means is that article need to be written in such a way as that they appear to be broken up into subtitles and bullets. This makes the information easier to find.

The suggestion further goes on to say that readers who prefer this also enjoy sites in the similar "broken up", but easier to read formats. This encourages repeat visits.

When writing in this way, it is important that the writer does not try to sell the readers something (I.E. the article cannot be a sales letter). It is also important to keep the article's readers at ease. The writer uses a good title, interest catching subtitles and bullets to capture and hold the reader's interest. Furthermore, the information presented must be of high quality and of value to the readers.

The information can cover a specific issue, a concern, a how-to, tips, etc. in the particular niche being written about. It can also be entertaining. As long as it is not a blatant sales letter. In this particular arena, sales letters are ignored.

When addressing this issue of the language of an article, the best approach is what I refer to as the "coffee table" approach. What is meant, is to approach a specific subject or issue, introduce it, explain your points regarding it (be it how-to, tips, etc.), include a situation that happened to you (if you have one), and conclude it (hit the highlights of your article and include a call to action, don't ramble).

Using this approach, you have conveyed to your readers ideas and useful information without selling them a thing.

Organization In Your Articles

Another key to successful article writing is keeping your information organized and easy to follow. Simply jumping from topic to topic is a bad idea in that the readers could get lost. They may simply lose track of what the writer is trying to tell them and stop reading the article altogether.

The organization should be simple and to the point. Title, introduction, body, and conclusion. This should be further organized so that the information is easily read and understood.

To avoid confusing or losing his readers, the writer must transition to the next topic by introducing it at the end of the current subject being written about. In this manner, the reader can still follow the flow of information without getting confused about what is being discussed.

Writing articles to promote a website is not hard. It takes understanding that the articles are not sales letters, but are sources of information to the readers. This information is presented in an easily followed, organized, and useful format. These are the keys to writing profitable articles.

Viral Marketing Can Make Your Business A Success!

The one virtue any site must possess is creativity. Internet competition is a ruthless and competitive rivalry that shows no mercy. Every means and methods of Internet marketing should be used and employed.

Irregardless of your website or product's quality, the reality is, if you have no site visitors your site is useless. Obviously,if the above is true, you will not make any money nor will you be successful. Your business will die a lonely death.

Admittedly, there are a number of traffic building techniques that are used by various webmasters. Some can help help build traffic while others have the added benefit of building page rank as well. One of the most popular means of building traffic is called Viral Marketing.

To some, viral marketing, may lead to images of computer viruses, the dread of all computer users. While it has been used in this fashion by certain marketers and types of marketers, it is not the norm for this kind marketing effort. Other negative connotations of viral marketing can be the use of popups and spyware ads. Using any of these can be very detrimental to your online business.

Basically, this type of advertising is a technique used to raise awareness of a product or company. It uses many different forms of media to reach potential customers without the marketer actually having to actively promote the product. It uses an addictive form of advertising which encourages the readers to pass the product on with the company links etc. in it or on it.

The basic marketing idea is that, if a person likes the content of the media, they will pass it on to their friends and family. They, in turn, will pass it on to their friends and family. Hence, the viral effect of this type of marketing.

The media can be in the form of a flash game, an e-book, an informative report, etc. The parent company sponsors the media which will have an active link, company logo, or content, etc. in it for potential customers to click on and visit the site. The effectiveness of this type of marketing is said to be the best in promotion techniques.

In all truth, viral marketing has become one of the hottest means to promote one's site or service known online. Partially due to its low cost. One such version of this is to use e-mail. In it, the e-mail is not considered spam as it has the sender's name and address in it. The recipient sees the friend's name and is more likely to open it and not consider it spam. It works.

The main advantage of viral marketing is a low cost publicity and public awareness with minimal effort on the marketer's effort. The added benefit is targeted traffic to the owner's site again with little additional effort on the site owner's part. The traffic can be exponential. With some ingenuity and creativity, a site owner can offer prizes or incentives to build additional traffic and build public awareness.

Not using viral marketing could kill your online enterprise. This is one marketing technique that could easily build your search engine ratings along with other Internet Marketing techniques. Low cost, viral, and effective this can build your traffic to levels of success unmatched by most other forms of advertising.

Developing A Traffic Plan Of Action For Your Site

One of the key steps to promoting your website or service is to develop a plan of action for the site. What this means is that the owner needs to decide what methods will be employed, how they will be employed, and how long they will wait to measure results.

These plans may involve e-mailing, e-zine articles, link trading, blogging, etc. The list could go on. The point is settling on a course of action and taking.

Getting It Organized

While it sounds easy enough to do, the actual idea of organizing your marketing efforts is more involved than it sounds. Many would be Internet Marketers believe that if they "throw enough traffic at it something will stick".

In one way, the idea has merit, but for the most part it is rubbish. Let's discuss the latter first. When most people start, they buy traffic and lots of advertising from everywhere they can to get as much traffic to their site as possible. After they have exhausted their finances, they grow discouraged from the lack of results and many quit. It is in this scenario I say the idea is rubbish.

When I say the idea has merit in one respect, let me try this. If one were to throw several well thought out advertising ideas at their site, the chances of success would grow significantly. Well thought out means working with several ads, not one hastily cobbled together ad.

Taking the ads out to the marketplace has been sometimes referred to an ongoing experiment, meaning that the ads are developed through seeing which ones are acted upon the most and further developing those ads.

If you are looking to get professional ads done right away you may consider hiring a professional copywriter. But even in these cases, you may have to work with the ads some to get the maximum benefits.

The Marketplace

Let's say that you have have some reasonably good ads ready to market. Now you have to decide how to get these ads to your perspective customers. Here are a few ideas.

Viral Marketing

This particular form of marketing covers many different aspects. It is considered to be the best way to market on the Internet. As an example, many Netpreneurs use free report giveaways as a means of promoting their site. They allow the readers of these reports to give them away. Some may offer to allow the readers to repackage them. This is an excellent incentive as it allows the readers to market the report as their own.

E-zine Marketing

This can be an excellent form of marketing depending on the number of subscribers in any publication and their responses to the e-zine postings. You may be able to work out special arrangements with e-zine owners by supplying articles for their use. Your articles won't be blatant sales letters but can be an excellent way to attract visitors to your site.

You can purchase ad space as well, but it may get costly. If you are on a budget, you may consider the arrangements above as the alternative.

Article Marketing

This is another excellent form of marketing. Simply writing articles in a particular niche can help drive lots of quality traffic to your site through the "About the Author" boxes. Furthermore, this particular form of marketing has an search engine benefit as well. It raises the page ranking of the site and, in most cases, they are seen before the site they represent is.

This can be done through a paid submission service or free. Most services offer both free and paid memberships. The only difference is how the services are set up.

Another point to mention for this type of marketing is this: Original content is KING. Copied content will only get your site blacklisted (Called search engine penalties). When writing articles, use all original content.

Irregardless of what you use to market your products or services, be consistent and persistent. Work with patience and don't take shortcuts. Don't expect to get rich overnight. Building a business takes time and work. But, the rewards and sense of accomplishment is something that is well worth the wait.

The Tell-A-Friend Secret Weapon

More and more webmasters are coming up with the same problem: Hot to grow their traffic to profitable levels. They have tried a number of different methods that had varying results. Some worked, but were short lived, while others did not work at all.

One technique that had created a number of success stories is viral marketing. This tends to make use of a person's willingness to share something that they have found to be useful, entertaining or informative or just plain exciting.

There are a number of companies that bank on this particular behavior to get the message out about their products or services. When using viral marketing companies have many mediums in which they can use. It could be in video form, a flash game, a story, or an informative e-book. It is considered one of the most effective means to promote online.

Typically, this form of marketing is low cost and a great tool for any website to utilize. The benefits far outweigh the costs and effort to begin this type of marketing. It's viral quality makes it invaluable when it comes to reaching an audience.

The Tell A Friend Script

One of the easiest viral marketing methods online today is the tell-a-friend script. This is as simple as it gets and easily attached to your webpages. In general, it is a script designed so that a person can share the media with his friends or family members.

The basic concept of this script is so that someone can input his or her name and e-mail address. They then submit the recipients name and e-mail address. The e-mail message may have a prewritten message, or the media may be attached. The recipient can't say that it's spam as the sender's name and e-mail address would be displayed plainly and the recipient would trust that person.

The script would eliminate the possibility of being blocked by isps as the information would be that of the sender. This allows for the message to be spread with much more efficiency. It is considered a sneaky way to do things but is very effective.

When the e-mail is sent and opened the media will either be read, viewed or played. The e-mail would also contain a brief description of the site that sponsored the media. There may or may not be some sort of description in the media as well, sort of a branding of the media. There may also be another tell a friend script. Hence the viral effect goes on.

This viral effect will begin again and again. As each person uses it, the potential audience can increase at a geometric rate and the site's potential visitors will only increase as a result.

The Availability Of This Secret Weapon

What may be a surprise to anyone who researches this script is both its ease of use and set up. It takes only a little time and effort to get it set up and running. Ironically, find one is een easier than one might expect. Simply add the text "tell-a-friend script" into a search box and hit enter.

You will see a number of results related to this search. Most of these script are free but one important point to remember is to check and see what your hosting company can support as many of the scripts are written with different requirements.

With the tell-a-friend script and a good marketing strategy, you could drive potentially profitable traffic to your site. This is a simple and harmless script that offers great benefits and low cost.

A final point to be made is this: be patient when using this script as it will take time to really start to work. If you are sending media, you may wish to examine the media to see if it is sending the message you want.

Targetting Traffic To Your Site

Traffic is the life's blood of any business, whether online or off. Without traffic, there is no customers, without customers there are no sales. Without sales, there is no business. Yet many webmasters seem to fall into the notion that traffic is traffic and the more you get the more sales you can make. This statement is both true and false.

It is true that, using the law of averages, you will make a few sales by throwing more and more traffic at a site. But those sales will, in all likely hood, be few and far between. Certainly not enough to sustain a business.

But take the same idea and apply it to targeted traffic. The big difference is that unlike the untargeted traffic mentioned above, the potential audience WANTS to check your site out. This type of traffic results in sales. This is the type of traffic webmasters want and demand. But few seem to know how to go about getting it.

Here are a few ideas that can help build that kind of traffic.

1. Article Marketing. Of all the types of marketing available, this one is among the best. It has the potential to reach an ever growing potential audience with any further effort on the webmaster's part. The market for fresh, original content is growing and the search engines reward sites that have it, whereas plagiarised material is penalized. Best of all,if you are on a budget this can be free and it works.

2. E-mail Marketing. This can be one of the best and fastest ways to build traffic and profits to your website. But this type of marketing comes with a warning. Be sure you know who it is you are dealing with and their reputation. There are the unscrupulous out there who will deliver your message to millions by spamming. Failing to abide by the CAN-SPAM laws can get you in more trouble than you think. Check them out through the BBB and FTC before spending your money.

3. Viral Marketing. To clarify what this means is that you are advertising through the use of free e-books or reports that you simply give away. You may allow your potential readers to repackage the e-book (so it looks like they wrote it), but the material inside remains untouched. The advantage here is that your readers are giving it away to still others thus increasing your potential market geometrically.

Using this type of marketing, you can reach a potential audience of thousands or more. BUT, when using this type of marketing, make sure the information you supply has value to the reader. It may be in the form of "how to" or giving tips on a particular niche or subject related to a particular niche. The point is the reader should be able to take the information given him and use it.

Affiliate marketers are always on the lookout for the magic bullet, the secret formula, the successful market that will propel their income to new levels of prosperity. They seldom realize the truth, there is no such formula. The only real formula for success is hard work and good marketing practices coupled with dedication.

There are, however, tactics that can be used to help build success, but they come with time and effort. Most of them are not overnight successes. I would like to share three great tips that can help you get started on the road to success.

What are these three tactics?

1. Use a unique web page to promote each seperate product. Don't pile all of the products and service you are marketing into one pageto save money on hosting. If possible, create seperate sites for each product. If not possible try to create a catalog type site and feature each product on a seperate page.

Include product reviews on your website. This will help to inform your site's visitors on what they are getting and some information on what to expect. You may wish to include tesimonials when possible. Just be sure that you obtain permission before you do so.

Tesimonials can be a great to boost sales and traffic. You may offer those who write the testimonials a link to their site from yours for them. This would encourage said testimonials to be filled with positive comments about your services.

Another great tactic to employ is the use of article writing to attract customers. With this tactic you can write about specific products or services that highlight the uses of those items that you sponsor. When writing these articles you can call your readers to act on the information you provide. Just remember that your article is not to be used as a sales page, but rather to be written in such a way as to get your readers excited about the prospect of using your product or service.

2. Offer free reports to your readers. This is a form of viral marketing. Some swear by this technique and use it constantly in their marketing efforts to measurable success. If possible, position this near the top of the page so that it cannot be missed. Try to set up mesages that will be mailed to the prospects at regular intervals. Usually a sale is made after the seventh message is sent.

Another version of this tecnique is to give the report away, so that the readers can offer it to still others. This form of viral marketing is designed to get your message out to an ever growing audience. The types of reports are written with substance of real value that can help the average reader get something they need (like traffic to their site)and designed so that the readers can repackage it as their own.

When visitors come to your site there are two possibilities that can happen. They will purchase your product or service or leave. Using an autoresponder, you will be sending them mesages at regular intervals to remind them of your service. When creating these followup messages, make sure to point out the benefits of your product or service without sounding like a sales pitch.

Focus on the important points, like how your products will may theirlives easier. Use unique and compelling titles in your messages. Talk TO them not AT them. Avoid the use of the word "free" as some e-mail filtering dump the message at the use of that word.

3.Use "targeted traffic" to reach the audience that will be interested in your product. Untargeted traffic to your site is more of a waste of your time and efforts. An old idea that used to be very prevalent in Internet advertising was to "throw more and more traffic at it till something sticks." It is an old idea that doesn't really work.

Using article marketing to drive targeted traffic to your site helps to bring in the kind of visitors who are more willing to purchase your product. Try to write a minimum of two articles a week at 300 - 600 words.

These are but three of the best tactics to use to build your business to the levels of income that you desire. they take time to implement and get results from, but they are tried and true.
