Now that Christmas is approaching, you are probably thinking on what gift you should send to your ex in order to impress her and get your loved one back. But, don't do it.

This idea comes from a "lesson" taught by all mothers to their sons about how to court women. They normally say things like: buy her gifts and take her to dinner, which in most cases is totally wrong! (I will tell you why do they teach this nonsense in the future).

Maybe it is not clear to you why giving gifts to women is almost always wrong, but let me explain this to you. Women are always trying to "interpret" what men are telling them, instead of taking the words as they come. For example: If she wants to go out and you tell her that you are tired, she will start thinking: Why is he telling me this?, maybe he doesn't like me anymore.. and thousands other things, when that man is really tired and he didn't mean anything but: "babe I would love to take you out, but I'm really tired" and this happens because women brains are very different.

So, buy her a gift and she will start thinking why you have bought something to her. She will likely think that you are trying to bribe her to be with you, which women see as a form of manipulation. Maybe she will think that you aren't confident enough in yourself and need some money to help you, which is very bad because although women like money very much, it is because they love strong stability and not because greediness.

These different ways of thinking and not understanding how each other is thinking is the main reason of most fights and divorces, so by very careful to understand women brains.

Although most gifts will raise suspect, cheap but nice gifts will not raise red flags. It is obvious that you will not try to buy her out with a $5 or $10 gift. The perfect gift is one that brings to her the most feelings regarding what you lived with her making your Christmas gift a powerful tools to gain her love again.

Always look to increase your knowledge about women because the more you know, the better you will be at dealing with them without conflicts and this is exactly what you want to dramatically increase your chances to get her love back.

Do you knew that sometimes women will start a fight only to test your reaction? Fail this kind of tests and you will start losing her very slowly, without noticing, but that is stuff for a whole new article.

What Are The Legal Issues About Spyware

I need to begin this article stating that I'm not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.

The existing laws deal with those items related to right to privacy and information acts in relation to communications. The fact there are many actions, which take place on computers not governed by existing laws raises the question is it against the law to steal data from someone's computer without permission.

The reality is many otherwise honest companies with whom people do business on the computer are dishonest in one critical area, which is the use of cookies to gather information. Yet can this or should this be defined as illegal since there really is not a body of legislation related to computer problems. It seems morality and ethics ought to limit the immoral and unethical behaviors, which cause computer problems but this is a very unrealistic view!

Stealing information from someone's office or home is illegal and can lead one to a jail sentence, but what about information stolen from a computer, is this legal? Some say yes, because a definite law forbidding it does not exist, others say it does not matter whether it is legal or not because, there is no way to know the names of the spies. This is a true statement to a degree, but there have been both "white hat" and "black hat" hackers accused and convicted of such crimes.

The recognition of the absence of appropriate laws to prevent illegal actions on the computer is something law schools are preparing law students for in the fight against spyware attacks on computers. The right to privacy act does not cover the act of placing spyware on someone else's computer, which is capable of damaging the computer and preventing the computer from working properly. spyware, which harms the hard drive in computers, is illegal based on moral, ethical standards but this is not sufficient to prevent it from happening.

Destroying someone's hard drive or any part of a computer is damaging or destroying the property of another. A person cannot come into your home and steal your computer, nor can the person take a sledge-hammer and smash your computer and yet the same person can place a piece of spyware into your computer and permanently destroy it completely or in part. The only action you can take is to buy a new computer.

There are more laws needed and law students and professors will continue to raise questions related to computer legislation for dealing with spyware and other forms of computer abuse. The government is beginning to act by writing laws, when their efforts bring success, the seemingly endless battle with spyware will improve. Meanwhile, those who own and use computers must depend upon honest companies to provide anti-spyware to fight the battle against spies for us.

Spyware Delivers Enough Ads To Make People Crazy

Today ads enter email inboxes and interrupt us on websites we visit. No one is free of all unwanted Ads many containing Adware. Good Spam filters should catch them. Adware emails come to harvest personal information or download unwanted programs to computers. Ads containing Adware are an easy way to attack computers, committing crimes like scamming and cramming or stealing identities.

Spyware comes in many varieties and Adware is the most vicious. When surfing the Internet for information or out of curiosity, Adware is nearby because legitimate webpages can include Ads with Adware. If we accidentally slide our mouse pointer over a small ad on the webpage, a pop-up ad opens asking for our email address, tempting us with an enticing offer. Those who play games on the Internet run into Adware often and the rule is do not open these ads. Curiosity killed a cat and curiosity can kill your computer. If you want something, search for the information but avoid opening uninvited ads.

A full security protection program is the best defense against Adware because it disrupts the entry of Adware into a computer. A strong Antivirus program is essential for all computers. If you do not have such a program, stop now and download one of the free offers from the net. A pop-up blocker or ad blocker and a Spam blocker for email are essential. Some of these are free to download, tread lightly pick a reputable company.

Another piece of software, which helps us gain control over Adware is the WOT Guide by Panda. The WOT Guide contains ratings for thousands of websites. If you click a website link rated dangerous by WOT, the website is often an Adware, information harvesting website or downloads harmful programs without your knowledge. A Red circle is a warning for a bad website, while a Blue circle signifies an unrated website and Green circle signifies a safe site.

A good way to fight Adware using Outlook or Outlook Express is, disconnect the preview pane and click the work offline button. Read offline so Adware email is unable to contact a server, harvest your information or download a dangerous program onto your computer. Read all email offline.

Frequently check for new downloaded programs on your desktop and Add/Remove list. In your computer panel, open the add/remove list and carefully check for new added programs. If a program did not knowingly download is in the list you, click the add/remove button and remove the program. Run a program like Adware or Spybot search. Go back to the add/remove list and make certain the unwanted program is gone.

Is There A Legitimate Use Of Spyware?

One of the confusing concepts about Spyware is use of hidden cookies by otherwise honest companies. How does this affect us and what is the harm to our computer and to us? Our Internet provider uses Spyware, a cookie, which is a small piece of computer language, used for identification and sometimes tracking information. The cookie identifies our computer as one of the company's clients. This type of cookie has a legitimate use and Internet providers usually inform subscribers of their use of cookies. However, those Internet Providers who use cookies to track our use of the internet are using cookies as Spyware. The practice of dropping cookies into our computer without our knowledge or permission is also use of Spyware. Many people using computers everyday have no idea their Internet Provider may be tracking their use of the computer.

Why is this called Spyware? It is Spyware because it is an information gathering cookie and we do not know when this cookie is gathering information or exactly what information it gathers. This is also a risk in some situations because a third party can steal the cookie, which contains personal information.

Those people, who do their banking and bill payments online, also have cookies in their computer serving as a means of identification. The cookies placed in your computer by your bank is a guarantee of your security before, during and after an online transaction. What happens if your anti-spyware software deletes such a cookies? Nothing happens, other than a third party cannot steal it.

When you go to a website and order something online on a secure website, the website will drop a cookie in your system at some point in the transaction. The purpose is partly for security reasons, but it is also a means, by which the company will do online marketing from the information they gather without your consent or knowledge. Although such Spyware may be benign and will not damage your computer, it is technically Spyware.

Think about the number of times a website, on which you sign up for something or purchase something has a statement of commitment. It states something like, "We will not sell or share your personal information to anyone for any reason." This makes us feel secure about leaving our email address or other information on the site. If we read the entire statement however, we will also read, they will share the information with their partners. This is a disclosure statement, which legalizes their sharing your information but the statement does not tell us the information passes from their partners to hundreds of others with whom we have no relationship. The problem lies in the fact we have no idea who their partners are and we have no control over the number of companies and individuals who will have access to our information. One hint is the volume of Spam and Junk email, which appears in our email program after we purchase something online or visit a variety of websites.

Are All Hackers That Bad?

Among the vicious attacks on computers are the attacks, which come daily from Spyware called Hackers. A relatively new term used by some in the computer protection business is the term Hacktivism. This term identifies a category of Spyware, used for vicious and unconscionable attacks on computers for a political reason.

Hacktivism is a derivation of the word hack, meaning to chop, cut, trim or break up something crudely, roughly or irregularly with the intent to do damage. A hacker is both the one who does this and the object with which this is accomplished. The object is the Spyware developed to do the hacking. The hacker is the skilled technician who develops an application aimed at entering a computer and doing damage to the person and the computer. The Spyware as the hacker is an application, which attaches to the system and does the damage. Hacktivism then is the act of hacking into a computer for the purpose, of breaking it or doing damage to it or the owner by stealing or distorting files, information data or in some cases the system, in whole or in part for a political reason.

There are two types of hackers, a white hat hacker and a black hat hacker. A hacker is a person usually "unauthorized" to access another person's computer system seeking to find vulnerabilities in your system. Vulnerabilities or deficiencies in an Internet Browser, through, which Spyware can enter your computer. This is why it is essential to check with your browser provider regularly for security updates and install them. Always respond to notices from Microsoft, Mozilla or whatever Browser you use, when there is an update available.

One who hacks into another's computer for a malice reason, curiosity or criminal intent for a political reason is committing the crime of hacktivism. The person is a black hat hacker who may enter a website and deface or distort information by changing the content. This person may also inhibit communication by freezing a computer or the hacker may prevent communication by a service denial message. This is hacking committed by a Cracker; a cracker is a hacker acting with malicious intent.

A black hat hacker is a person who is unauthorized to access a computer system and does so with illegal intent. The black hat hacker intends to use the information to do harm to your computer or steal your personal information. The purpose of a security system is to prevent these events from happening and to gather information on the black hat hacker and add it to the blacklist in the security program. This permits the security program to block this hacker in the event he or she tries again.

In the world of automation, spyware software intends to use information in your computer to make you suffer. Some spyware does not cause lasting harm and good anti-spyware software programs can almost always remove spyware after it gets into your PC.

Many spyware, called malware because of its malicious nature, can cause huge injury to your system and to you personally. Sometimes, it is necessary to use more than one anti-spyware program to avoid risks. You should use a good spyware removal utility when you have been surfing the net, even if a complete security program is running on your computer permanently.

In the Wikipedia we find, "Spyware is a category of malicious software intended to intercept or take partial control of a computer's operation without the user's informed consent."

One of the critical problems with spyware is the ability for spies to get into your PC and download, put or create an unwanted program onto your computer without your approval. A good overall security program is always analyzing your PC and in most instances, will activate a block against the site trying to download possible threats.

Your security application will tell you the name of the site which is trying to download something onto your computer and will ask you to click "allow download" or not. Maybe it is good to remember that only trusted sites should be allowed to download something. You want to know how the software works, even if you would normally trust what appears to be a familiar site. Remember that a site may appear to be a web you recognize, however it is possible that the site was hijacked.

Don't turn off your malware filter in you security software. When a site tries to download or you click on a malicious site, the filters will go to work and warn you of any dangerous or malicious software and if a site is a forgery.

A good anti-spyware program will help to preserve your information, but there is no one program, which will prevent all tricks the evil use to get control of your PC. Nowadays, a decent security program includes an anti-spyware program, however not always one program is enough, which will scan and repair any harm done to the computer programs, registry and files, after you visited the web.

There are many good programs, which can serve as a second option to your main Spyware program and you better get one now.

Did You Chose To Break Up?

One of the important questions we need to resolve from the beginning of a break-up is what part we played in causing the break-up of the relationship. More often than not, our response is not really the true answer. Rarely, does a relationship end because one person suddenly did or said something unforgivable. Often, relationships end because they are no longer convenient and convenience is one reason some people remain in a relationship.

How often we hear about a break-up and the first thing we say, "I thought they had a perfect relationship, they have it all, good jobs, great kids, beautiful home and now they are getting a divorce, I do not understand." Then you begin to hear stories: "They have been fighting for years, he has had several affairs, and she has a friend on the side." "They stayed together because of the kids or they had to stay together to keep the house." The story is a familiar one today, when more than fifty percent of marriages are falling apart within the first five years of the marriage.

There is nothing wrong with marriage, but there is a whole list of things wrong with men and women who are not making certain they have a good friend long before the person becomes a spouse. When two people are, good friends they are tolerant, sincere, open, honest and above all they are committed. When two people are good friends they care deeply about each other's feelings, they choke on each other's tears, and they do not insult each other with sarcasm. They support the efforts of each other to improve the relationship.

Good friends have roaming eyes in a crowded room, searching to meet eye to eye above the crowd with a glance, which says I love you! Good friends are mature they each have learned to live alone and they have developed the skills to live with another. They have learned to care for a home and have learned how to meet monthly financial obligations. They are mature and self-assured but unafraid to share their deepest self with another. Good friends make good marriages and good friends have lasting marriages.

When there is a break-up undoing the past is impossible but we can work together to create a new future. Admit the ways you failed as a partner in the relationship. Ask for forgiveness and offer forgiveness. Make four promises and never break them. I will love you, even when you are angry with me. I will never be sarcastic, rude or intolerant of you. I will discuss our differences and will never condemn or belittle you. I will faithfully share all responsibilities for our home and our family.

Halt Browsing Hot Shots With Firewalls

Firewalls work within our computer to prevent hackers and others from setting fire (figuratively speaking) and destroying data files, ravaging private information or harming computer hardware and software. A computer firewall is a virtual wall, halting unwanted hackers and vicious software attempting to enter personal, business and other computers.

Computer firewalls are similar to firewalls required for large buildings. The firewall is a thick brick wall located between sections of buildings forming a barrier to prevent fire from spreading to other parts of the building.

A computer firewall functions in a similar way and halts the hot hands of hackers and websites from breaking into a computer. The computer user sets the protection level of the firewall as high, low or medium security. Low security would be comparable to an apartment building without a brick firewall.

There are various types of firewalls, each having a specific job dependent upon the purpose for the firewall and the degree of protection required. There are application firewalls, which act as a relay for servers and web proxy agents. Personal firewalls provide protection for home users and others using a personal desktop and laptop computer.

There are certified firewalls, providing protection related to sockets for audio, video and data channels used by businesses with a computer network to protect confidential files from outsiders.

The firewall may limit employee accessibility to some files. Comparison firewalls are pieces of software used to compare the security capabilities and vulnerabilities of firewalls of different companies. IP firewalls are those, which act as a router referred to as "middleboxes" between a source host and a destination host.

Other firewalls are proxy servers and firewalls, which act as guardians for a company's internal network. The firewall functions between the server and a company's internet connection, the proxy server. Other firewalls serve as access controls against unauthorized access to or from a private network. firewalls can be hardware, software or a combination of hardware and software.

A firewall is a critical piece of hardware or software capable of functioning with a set of filters. The filters monitor Internet traffic and when triggered cause the firewall to react and halt potentially harmful traffic. Now, it is possible for a triggered filter to direct a firewall to stop traffic, which a person wants to enter the computer. In this situation, the person must adjust the security level of the firewall to allow entry of the information.

Those who access the Internet through a broadband router, which usually has an existing firewall configuration, have an advantage against harmful attacks. Added to the software firewall in the programs in the computer, the person with broadband connection has double protection against assaults.

Which Is Really The Best Browser For You?

The very best way to determine if some browser is the one for you is to download your personal copy and test it, since all are free. It only takes a few minutes and your new browser is up and running. If you choose to download Mozilla, you can get additional tools to personalize your copy of Firefox, thereby making it even better. You can download the Google and Yahoo toolbars with built in Pop-up blockers and antivirus protection.

One of the great features of this browser is the toolbar for the homepage, which is very much like your toolbar in Windows Word. Instead of leaving your browser as you have to do with some other browsers you can simply click on File on the left side of the Browser and go to a Blank document or to Open file and then to My documents.

On the downside, the Firefox toolbar cannot be configured as you like as the toolbar on Internet Explorer.

If you are doing research on the Internet and need to make notes or write an article there is no need to move back to your desktop and open Word or Wordpad while using Firefox as you do with some browsers. You simply click on File on your toolbar and a drop down menu appears. Click on the new document icon for a blank page or click on Open file, if you want to continue writing in a document, you already have as a working document. Click on My Documents and click on the File you want to open. Notice your browser Toolbar looks like the Word toolbar because you have an Editor built into your new Browser. It is easy to open a Blank document or an existing File from your new browser.

While writing notes, continuing with a working Document or writing an entry for your blog you can work offline. There is no need to stay online and you do not need to close your Mozilla browser. On the right side of your toolbar click on Tools and a drop down menu will appear, simply click on Work Offline, and then return to your document and do your writing. When you have completed your notes, blog entry or your document you can go back online by doing this. Click on your Tools link in the toolbar when the drop down menu appears click on Work Offline and you will be back online immediately.

The Everyday Pop-Up From Hell

A pop-up is a window or a frame containing information or a request for information, such as an email address. Pop-ups can be a harvesting process to gather email addresses for spamming, selling or other reasons not to our benefit. They are most often unwanted advertisements and sometimes contain pornographic comments or graphics. Others are invitations requesting your email address to receive more information. The homepage of some websites contain embedded ads; if our mouse pointer slides into their field, a pop-up immediately appears. The pop-up can be a new page, blocking or replacing, the webpage we are viewing or a small frame blocking part of the page we are viewing.

To stop unwanted pop-ups is not a big problem because there are many pop-up Blocker programs. Some browsers have built-in pop-up blockers, or an extension or an add-on to prevent unwanted Pop-ups. Internet Explorer and Firefox have ad-blockers to stop unwanted pop-ups. If, pop-ups are a problem we need to check and make certain our ad-blocker or pop-up blocker is "on". Click on the tools button and look for the pop-up blocker or ad-blocker feature, and click "on". Some toolbars such as Google, Yahoo and Equifax have pop-up blockers add-ons for their toolbars. After downloading a pop-up or ad-blocker feature, it necessary to open the feature and click the "on" button.

Pop-up blockers are part of a full security program such as Micro-Trend, Mcafee or Symantec Norton. Every computer owner ought to invest in a full security program to be safe on the Internet. Many people do not realize the importance and quality of security, which comes from paying extra money for full protection of their computer. They take an unnecessary risk by downloading free software, which does not offer full real time security or daily updates. The full security programs hire technicians who develop daily updates as they discover the newest threats of spyware, adware viruses, trojans and other dangers. The full service security programs send pop-ups with a warning and actions to take as we work online if some harmful element enters an open port or a virus strikes.

Sometimes our security program will send a pop-up with a warning such as, "You have opened a dangerous site, close your browser and do not attempt to open this site again". Others may come while we are downloading a program and contain a message such as, "A program is attempting to download to your computer," in response we click "Allow or Do not allow." Our security program is on the job protecting our computer from hackers who attempt to download something to our computer without our knowledge. Some pop-ups are good while others are just irritating and others are potentially harmful to our computer.
