Keeping Your Hot Tub Clean

Most people that buy a hot tub forget about the hygiene that comes along with it. If you do not regularly maintain your hot tub there is a big chance that it will stop working and most importantly there are a lot of health complications that come along with sitting in a dirty hot tub.

In the UK it is a bit safer, as the water from the taps are sterilised and delivered to you. But there is high use of chlorine and various other chemicals in the English taps, which can affect the tubs over long periods of time. This being said you should always work on getting the chlorine balance right, as too much will result in a very bad bout of skin problems as well as massive irritation to your eyes.

If you are buying a hot tub from a specialist store than they should usually come with a self maintenance starter kit, included in most kits is information on how to best maintain your hot tub, for a satisfactory hygiene level. Most hot tubs will come with a lid especially if you have purchased one for use in the garden or elsewhere outdoors. These are great for eliminating bacteria that can access the tub, as it is well known that all types of parasites thrive and breed at enormous levels.

Finally you should have your hot tub regularly maintained, just as a car a hot tub should have a service at least twice a year to keep it at its peak performance levels, a new tub should ideally come packaged with a warranty which should at least cover some type of maintenance fees for the first few years.

All in all if you still believe that you do not need to clean your hot tub, I will give you a few instances of why you should. Firstly let's just say that you have a pet such as a dog and he or she jumps into the water for a swim. Dogs themselves carry a lot of different types of bacteria which could potentially cause a lot of harm to your own body. Secondly if you decide to have a party and everyone decides to have a dip in the tub it will eventually become very dirty especially if people have not washed there feet or underarms recently. So keeping a healthy tub will ultimately give you a healthy body.
