Los Angeles, CA - RIME (www.Rimemag.com) is a long time platform for everything L.A. and Hip Hop. Our 8 years of print and online publishing has made Rime one of the most well-known and credible publications in the world. Our re-launch of the website in 2009 has catapulted RimeMag.com into closer territory of the top urban websites. Our Alexa ranking has risen rapidly from 2,100,000 in June 2009 to 389,000 as of Sept 2009. RimeMag.com is currently ranked as 62,000 out of all websites registered in United States.

Available through the site we also offer our new digital magazine that offers the same layout, text, and advertisements as our printed version, while improving accessibility and reach...which also now includes the Rime iPhone App.

Founded in 2001 by Jason Flores at age 19, Rime’s first issue was distributed by hand by Mr. Flores until getting two Tower Records accounts. After approximately two weeks, Mr. Flores received a phone call from the purchaser at Tower Headquarters in Sacramento. Because the magazines in both stores had sold out, Tower wanted the publication in all their stores, nationally.

Once national distribution was attained rather quickly in early 2002, Rime was fortunate enough to extend its distribution with Ingram Periodicals, allowing Rime’s entrance into Borders, Barnes & Noble, B. Dalton and others nationally.

The steps to growth continued when in 2003, Jason Flores signed a contract with Curtis Circulation, the nations largest magazine distributor (Oprah, Rolling Stone, Maxim, Sports Illustrated). This launched Rime into a new category, as a contender to some of the largest most influential urban mags in the world. Our content has been known to be some of the most sought-after and respected types of articles in our industry:
History of the Nike Cortez, Comparing the Republican & Democrat Health Plans, Run DMC Still Runnin NYC

Over the years, Rime’s distribution has stretched worldwide, moving hundreds of thousands of magazines globally. Despite trimming some of our print distribution due to the economic recession of 2008/2009, we’ve excelled even further by the development of digital platforms such as the Rime store, Rimemag.com and our iPhone App. Our current digital reach is over 100,000 per month.

Our goal is continue the strong growth within the industry and develop new ideas in the digital spectrum.

Like me, and 200 million other people, you’re probably a user of Facebook. Don’t get me wrong – I’m an avid Facebook fan – a regular Facebook user. I love being able to write on my friends walls, check out the random Facebook photos from nights out on the ‘lash’, change my status and “poke” my friends. Facebook Chat One feature that I’ve never got on with is Facebook Chat. To be frank it’s no Windows Live Messenger. Speaking from my web-browser whilst I’m trying to find out the latest football scores, or read up the latest celebrity gossip just doesn’t work for me. Facebook Messenger – Chit Chat Recently, thanks to a friend’s recommendation (cheers Dave!); I joined a growing number of people on Facebook using an instant messenger, like MSN (Windows Live Messenger), called Chit Chat to access Facebook Chat. Chit Chat is like MSN, but slightly better. For example, I don’t have all of my friends on MSN, but I have them all on Facebook. Chit Chat let’s me talk to all of my Facebook friends with the convenience of Windows Live Messenger. Like MSN it also has status updates – informing me who has just signed into Facebook Chat. Chit Chat is not perfect, it does have a few hiccups’ here and there – but it is much better than using Facebook Chat from my web-browser. One thing that I really like about Chit Chat, the Facebook Chat Instant Messenger, is the tabbed message window. It allows me to talk with many of my friends on Facebook at once from one instant message window – I don’t know about you, but when I’m on Windows Live Messenger and I have 9 windows open because I’m trying to talk with 9 different people at once it gets a little complicated. Chit Chat with its tabbed instant message window makes it dead easy to talk with many people at once and for that reason alone, I love using Chit Chat for Facebook Chat. I’m now a regular Facebook Chat convert – thanks to the Facebook Instant Messenger Chit Chat. Chit Chat is extremely easy to use; most of my friends are now using it to talk on Facebook Chat rather than use MSN. From Ian, who, to be honest is a bit of a self confessed nerd (he is also a bit of a trend setter – he was using Facebook, YouTube and Twitter miles before anyone else) to my cute blonde girlfriend Amy, who’s never been very good at computers, but to her credit she managed to install Chit Chat herself. Well done Amy! How Do You Get Chit Chat for Facebook? So how do you get the Facebook Messenger Chit Chat you ask? Easy, head over to ChitChat.Org.Uk and download a copy – install it, answer a few questions and then login with your existing Facebook user name and password.

I have written many Lotto Blog posts and Articles where I have discussed how to increase your chances of winning your lottery jackpot by using a reduced play list. One of the examples I have used is the Lotto Texas 6/54 lottery, although, this lottery strategy applies equally well to all lotteries.

In the example, I simply removed just one lottery number from play to demonstrate the dramatic effect this has on your chances of winning. As a result, the lottery player is left playing a new lottery called the Lotto Texas 6/53. This simple strategy has the enormous effect of removing nearly 3,000,000 wagers from play resulting in a corresponding improvement in the player?s chances of winning the lottery jackpot.

Of course, it is true that occasionally the player will actually remove one of the winning numbers. Obviously, in this case, the player wouldn't have a chance of winning the lottery jackpot in that drawing. But, this doesn't happen very often because the player has 48 non-winning numbers from which to choose. Therefore, he has over a 90% chance that his choice will be a good one. With odds like these, it is rather mystifying why everyone doesn't use this lottery strategy. But, I don't want to mislead you. Using this strategy doesn't mean you are going to win the lottery on Saturday, it only means you have increased your chances to jump for joy.

Lottery Strategy

This brings us to the point of this article. Using this lottery strategy, can a player do better than 90%? The answer is YES.

How is this possible? First, you have to understand that the underlying assumption is that the selection of the lottery number to be removed from play was a random choice. But, it doesn't have to be random. Why not make it an intelligent choice?

Lottery Number Patterns

Observing lottery number patterns in the lottery's history can help you extend a streak of good picks. So, what exactly is a lottery number pattern? A lottery number pattern is any information that you find by studying the history of lottery number performance that could increase your chances of winning the lottery jackpot.

For example, in the Lotto Texas, 6/54 lottery, the number 45 has performed very poorly over the lottery's history. In fact, it is the worst.

Averaging less than 1 hit every 15 drawings, it has extended dry spells of 36, 43, 29 and 31 drawings without a hit. It's bad performance is not a fluke. It has been very poor over a prolonged period.

So, if this trend continues, on the average, you would be able to increase your chances of being right from 90% to 93.3%. But, if you catch it on one of its extended vacations, you could ride this horse for 29 drawings or more, improving your chances of being right to 96.7% or better. So, the number 45 would be a good candidate to remove from your Play List. This is just a sampling, a taste; a glimpse of what serious lottery play is all about.

The number 45 isn't the only lottery number pattern a serious lottery player would observe. Other good choices for Lotto Texas 6/54 are numbers 54 and 1. Number 54 has dry spells of 49 and 36 drawings. Number 1 has dry spells of 38, 47 and 29 drawings.

Increase Your Chances

Who can increase their chances of winning the lottery jackpot using this lottery strategy? The answer is anyone.

But, a serious lottery player will be more aggressive. Why? Because, he realizes that his chances of winning the lottery jackpot increase by removing more numbers.

He also understands that a more aggressive strategy will increase the number drawings in which he will remove a winning number from his play list. But, an experienced lottery player, using some good lottery software, should be able to maintain a success rate of 75% or better.

What Do You Do to Increase Your Odds of Winning the Lotto?

The idea of winning the lotto jackpot has become almost a universal dream the world over. Most players buy 5 or 10 Quick Picks after work or while they're at the store. This represents the majority of lotto ticket sales. But, these players haven't done anything to improve their chances of winning the lotto jackpot.

These people are playing what is called Full Odds. For example, in Lotto Texas, the chances of winning the lotto jackpot are 1 in 25,827,165. This is an example of Full Odds. So, they'll have to be one very lucky Texan to win the lotto jackpot. How lucky?

Well, this statement is probably going to disturb some of you. I strongly believe that everyone who plays is going to win the lotto jackpot! Provided they live long enough. So, how long is enough? Well, for Lotto Texas, drawings are held twice a week. Provided the winning numbers never repeat, the last winner will be celebrating in about 250,000 years! Even if you were one of the real lucky players and your numbers came in 50 years from now, you wouldn't have much time left to enjoy your good fortune.

Players Dilemma

This is the players dilemma. How does the player win the lotto jackpot before he's dead or too old to enjoy it? This is the problem that serious lotto players are trying to solve every drawing. How do they reduce those 250,000 years of lotto drawings to something acceptable?

The only hope that any serious lottery player has is to use some quality lottery software and their brains. The lottery software helps develop and manage their lottery strategies to improve their chances of winning. So, if you are serious about winning the lotto in your lifetime, it would be wise to purchase some good (great) lottery software. Unfortunately, there are maybe only 3 or 4 decent lottery software packages on the market and the rest are a waste of time and money. So, caveat emptor my friend.

So, just for grins, 'How much do you think you can improve your chances by using lottery software? The answer is quite a bit, actually. Most of you will be amazed at the dramatic effect even some rather simple lotto strategies can have.

Here's an example. Let's take a look at the Lotto Texas, TX654 lottery. As I stated earlier, the chances of winning this lottery are one of the highest in the US; 1 in 25,827,165! But, you don't have to settle for that. Here is one very simple thing that you can do that dramatically effects your chances of winning the lottery.

Increase Your Odds

Don't play!!! That's right; don't play the state's game. Instead, play a different game and call it Lotto Texas 6/53. Simply remove one of the 54 numbers from play. Pick one of the 54 numbers that you believe will not be one of the winning numbers. The remaining 53 numbers become your reduced play list.

At first, this may not sound like a big deal but the effect is dramatic. This simple act improves your chances of winning the lottery to 1 in 22,957,480. So, 2,869,685 wagers were removed from play! That's nearly 3 MILLION wagers!!! This has the effect of concentrating your dollars. Now, each dollar you spend has an effective value of $1.12.

So, are you going to win the lottery? Not necessarily. But, using lottery strategies like these means that your chances of winning the lotto jackpot are better than everyone else playing Lotto Texas. Here is an interesting point. If everyone playing Lotto Texas used this strategy in the next drawing, the state lottery officials would be scratching their heads the following day and wondering why their payout suddenly jumped 10% above normal.

Whoops

Right now many of you are asking this question, "What happens if you pick one of the 6 winning lotto numbers by accident?" Great question! All I can say is, "Whoops." Yes, it happens, but, how often? Remember, in each Lotto Texas drawing, only 6 winning lotto numbers are chosen, leaving 48 lotto numbers that are not chosen! Your chances of picking one of those 48 non-winning numbers are excellent. In fact, doing this 95% of the time should be easy.

In summary, over time, this lotto strategy will work in 19 out of 20 drawings. As a result, you can improve your chances of winning the lotto jackpot in 19 drawings and miss only one. Not a bad deal.

Peoples Favorite Lotto Mistake - Using Dates as Lotto Numbers

Common practice for many lottery players is to use dates for their lottery numbers. This approach actually reduces their chances of winning the lottery.

People use family birthdays, anniversaries and other important dates to create their lottery wagers. The thought is that these dates brought them luck before and, therefore, it will happen again. After all, these were the luckiest days in their lives. But, instead of improving their chances of winning the lottery, this lottery approach has the exact opposite effect.

For example, when using this lottery strategy, you are only playing lottery numbers 1 thru 31. So, as long as you are playing the MN531, WI531, WildCard531, PA530 or WV625, this lottery strategy at least has a chance. But, these lotteries are the only lottos in North America where that is true. By using this approach in the other 70 lotteries you have either committed Hari-kari or, at the very least, shot yourself in the foot.

Here's the Hari-kari scenario. If you're playing the NY659 or the Powerball 5/59 lottery, choosing dates as lottery numbers is a big mistake. Why? Because, over 47% of the lottery numbers, from 32 thru 59, will never appear in any of your wagers. But, typically, almost half of the lottery numbers drawn will come from that group. Therefore, you would have seriously limited your chances of winning the lottery. You've taken yourself out of the running.

Allow me put an exclamation point on this. In the last 200 drawings of the NY659 there was only one winning ticket in which all of the numbers were between 1 and 31. That means that you were in the running to win the lottery a miserably unimpressive 0.5% of the time. You had no chance of winning in 199 of those 200 drawings.

Here's the shooting yourself in the foot scenario. Now, as the size of the lottery becomes smaller, 54, 49, 47, 44, 40, etc., the amount of negative impact is lessened. For example, in the last 740 drawings of the NJ540 lottery, 23% of the winning numbers contained only numbers less than or equal to 31. Not bad, you say. Well, that's one way of looking at it. But, in 77% of the drawings you didn't even have a chance of winning the lottery. Bad luck didn't cause that. You're strategy took you out of the running. You shot yourself in the foot.

Some people will continue playing this way, in spite of this article. I wish them well. I really do. I hope they win the big one. But, what I am about, what all of my articles are trying to do is to increase your chances of winning the lottery in as many drawings as possible. Life is too short to let even one opportunity pass us by.

HOT Lotto Numbers Improve Your Chances of Winning the Lotto

Your chances of winning the lottery are closer when you use HOT numbers. These are facts known by serious lottery players everywhere. Serious lottery players know how important HOT numbers are. So, if you are already a member of the choir, then this article is one of your favorite hymns. For the rest of you, enjoy the enchanting melody.

What are HOT Numbers? HOT lottery numbers are those numbers that have HIT more often than any other numbers. Usually, we talk about the top 10 HOT lottery numbers but, depending on the situation, we might talk about the top 15 or the top 5.

Let's set the stage. Obviously, in a 6 number lottery, 6 numbers are drawn. Therefore, over 100 drawings, 600 numbers are drawn. So, if we use the Illinois 6/52 lottery as an example, each lottery number should HIT 11.54 times. 600/52 = 11.54 This is logical, straight forward and wrong.

How could this possibly be wrong? The mathematics is correct! Well, it's wrong for a couple of reasons. First, how can any lottery number HIT 11.54 times? It can't. It can HIT 11 times or 12 times but never 11.54 times. No doubt, some of you think I'm playing you and you're RIGHT! But, I'm doing it to make a point. Do you see what it is? In order for the average to come out as a decimal fraction, some numbers must HIT more often than others.

Second, that average, 11.54, is very weak. It's weak because it is based on only 100 lottery drawings. In fact, it is so weak that some numbers may HIT 20 times and others will only HIT 5 times and everything else in between. These fluctuations above and below the expected average decrease as more drawings are held; the average becomes stronger.

I'm going to use a classic example to make my next point.

Everyone should know that the most probable outcome resulting from flipping a random coin 100 times is 50 heads and 50 tails. However, in reality you're more likely to get some other result; like 60 heads and 40 tails. In this case, there is a 20% error from what is expected. (60-50)/50 = 0.20 The mathematician would not be alarmed by this. He would simply say you haven't run enough trials. And, as you run more trials the percent error begins to shrink.

For example, if you were to conduct 500 trials the results begin to tighten to 550 heads and 450 tails. Now the percent error is only 10%. If you went all the way to 10,000 trials, you finally reach the point where, for all intents and purposes, the number of heads equals the number of tails; 5005 heads versus 4995 tails or 0.1% error. So, as you run more trials, the fluctuations shrink, the percent error shrinks and the average becomes stronger.

Now, here's the startling revelation! With the coin, there were only two possible outcomes; heads or tails. It took 10,000 trials before the wild fluctuations averaged themselves out. How many trials do you think it's going to take before all lottery numbers HIT the same number of times when there are not 2 possible outcomes, but 20,358,520 possible outcomes? I don't know what that number is but there are probably more zeros in that number than there are dollars in your paycheck.

It's a huge number! That means, for all intents and purposes, it could take millions of years before all lottery numbers occur the same number of times. This is great news to serious lottery players.

Good news because, our lottery playing life represents a very, very short time in lottery terms. And, in the short term, wide variation will exist between the number of hits for HOT and Cold numbers. The bottom line is, in our life time, consistently putting those HOT numbers in our play list gives us a long term statistical advantage. It increases our chances of winning the lottery.

The VII Keys You Should Know Before Buying Lottery Software

You enjoy playing the lotto. You're convinced there are trends and patterns there. If you only knew what they were. So, why not? You've decided to buy some lotto software.

Well, watch out my friend. You're about to enter a minefield. A place filled with hype-masters and hucksters, with dazzle and glitz, with outrageous claims and expectations. This is the world of lotto software.

I'm not trying to dissuade you; I'm trying to alert you to what's in store. Sorting out the descent products from the rest can be difficult. Perhaps this checklist will help you on your quest.

You May Need Hip Boots

This shouldn't surprise you. We're surrounded and inundated with advertisements continuously throughout the day. The Internet is more like a seething cauldron than a market place. So, you're going to find page after page of lotto software companies hawking their wares. Here's what to look out for.

If they promise you that 'YOU Will WIN the lotto in 1 Week, GUARANTEED!' you should be a bit skeptical. You won't win the lotto and, as far as that guarantee is concerned, you'll never see your money again. These charlatans are here today, gone tomorrow. They can form a new company and set up an internet site in a day. They scam as much money as they can until they feel some heat and, poof, they're gone. The next day they're open for business again under a new name. They're ghosts on steroids.

Experience and Confidence

If a company has been in business a long time you learn 3 things:
1. They must believe in their product.
2. They have sustained a level of sales over the years to remain profitable.
3. They have been able to maintain a good reputation in the marketplace.
And, it is these facts that instill Confidence in the consumer.

Are Testimonials Hype?

Some would say that Testimonials have been over used and, besides, who believes that crap anyway? The people probably don't even exist. They were made up just like the Testimonial. Unfortunately, the skeptics have a point. Why should you give any credence to Testimonials? Why? Because, you can learn much more by reading them than you can by not.

If a huckster made them up, his only motive was to get you to buy. If customers wrote them, they are thanking the vendor. Hucksters speak from avarice but satisfied customers speak from the heart. The next time you read some testimonials, keep this in mind and you might just learn more that you expected.

Ever Need Some Help?

Boy, ain't that the truth. Ever need some help with some software and, when you click on Help, all you get is &$%^#? Nada. Nothing. Squadush. Ever read the Help screen and it just made you mad? Oh, here's one. Ever click on Help only to have it tell you to look in the Manual? Help files like these are all written by people who could care less if you get any help. They only care about getting it done quickly so they can take your money faster. Contrast that with the attitude of a company that actually has a good product that they are proud of.

Oh, here's another. Every click on Help and discover it was written by a person who knows the product backwards and forwards and, so, he wrote the help screen for someone who knows the product backwards and forwards? Microsoft is notorious for this and, rightly so, it has become the brunt of an unending torrent of internet jokes.

So, do a little investigation into the Help screens the product provides. It might save some of your precious household items from being broken.

A Good Manual Is Hard to Beat

Software generally is notorious for having schlock product manuals but the problem is even worse with lotto software. This is due, in no small part, to the unsavory characters that market on the fringe of our business. It particularly frustrates me because, undeservedly, some of that tarnish rubs off on the white hat guys in our business.

Here's a pet peeve of mine that I'm sure many of you share. The manual explains exactly how each part of the software works, but never tells you how, when or where to use it. What are you supposed to do; spend the next two years learning how to use the software by trial and error? You finally learn how to use it about the time the next version hits the market. So, find out what you can about their software operations manual before you purchase.

A Picture May Be Worth a Thousand Words - But a Video Is Worth the Whole Book

With all the technology available to companies today, there is no excuse for not providing the customer with Training or Tutorial Videos. Five minutes watching a training video can save hours of frustration and turn an angry customer into raving cheerleader. So, find out if the company provides training on their product?

What Are They Selling On Their Website?

Today, that's a good question. On many websites it is very difficult to determine exactly what they are trying to sell. You went there to buy lotto Software and you're inundated with audio messages, pop-up advertisements and video pitches for things you don't want and had no intention of buying. You're surrounded, top, bottom, left and right, with ads selling everything from 'The Original Cave Etchings of the Dingbat Tribe of South of Nowhere' to 'Uncle Charley's Homemade Itch Cream'. If the company can't make up its mind who it is, you probably shouldn't reward their confusion.

A Good Blog Is Priceless

Does the company love what it does? Does it have a passion for lotto software? Nothing demonstrates a company's commitment to its product more than a Blog. Why, you ask? Because a Blog is a lot of hard work. Making a Blog post every day is a major commitment by the company to support its customer base and engage the serious lotto playing community in discussions about their favorite topic.

Now, some vendors have blogs for the sole purpose of being able to say 'We have a blog'. Maybe they make a post once a month if they remember.
These guys are not for real. They have no love for the topic itself other than to create a revenue stream.

But, a good Lotto Blog is vitally important. It is an excellent place to learn more about your software. Where else can you learn about that new strategy? Where else can you ask those questions that you have? A good Lotto Blog can make all the difference.

Which lotto strategy is best? Great question. When it comes to increasing your chances of winning the lotto, there are two things you can do.

1. Buy more tickets.
2. Increase your chances of winning.

For example, buying 25 lotto tickets can increase your chances of winning from 1:3,000,000 to 1:125,000. Or, you could buy some lotto software, use your brain and increase your chances of winning the lotto while making your dollar go farther.

Obviously, method #2 is preferable because it allows you to stretch your lotto budget while maintaining similar coverage of all possible wagers. In other words, if you can increase your chances of winning to 1:100,000 using lotto number analysis techniques, then you only have buy 1 wager to have the same chances. So, if you're a serious lotto player, purchasing some good lotto software is a no-brainer. It pays for itself in a couple of weeks.

An intelligent lotto player tries to cover as many of the possible winning wagers as possible. I call this your Lotto Footprint or LFP. Environmentalists use a similar term, Carbon Footprint, to describe the effect each of us has on global warming. However, the environmentalist wants a small Carbon Footprint and serious lotto player wants a large Lotto Footprint. The larger the LFP the better your chances of winning are.

Here's a simple formula for LFP that you can use to compare different lotto strategies. It incorporates both approaches mentioned above. Here's the formula.

LFP = tickets purchased /# of possible wagers in Millions

Controlling your budget is as easy as keeping the numerator small. So, we'll concentrate on reducing the size of the denominator; the number of possible wagers. In this article we'll use the Massachusetts Cash WinFall, 6/46 Lotto.

Everybody playing the MA646 lotto starts out with 9,366,819 possible wagers from which to choose. For the purposes of using the LFP, we will use 9.366819 in the formula. If the player buys 1 wager:

LFP = 1/9.366819 = 0.107

The easy way to increase your coverage of the MA646 lotto, to increase your LFP, would be buy more wagers. For example, buying 25 wagers results in an LFP of 2.67; indicating that your coverage has improved.

But, how does the serious lotto player reduce the number of possible wagers? Simple. It's called a reduced Play List. Unlike everyone else in Massachusetts who is playing a 6 out of 46 game, our guy is playing a different game. Lets suppose that by using his lotto software to analyze the lotto, he is convinced that the number 38 will not hit in the next drawing. He will not play any wager that has the number 38 in it.

I know, you're thinking, 'No big deal.' and are about to stop reading. BUT, WAIT! It is a big deal. This simple act of removing 1 number from play has removed 1,221,759 wagers from play! That's over a MILLION wagers. You see, while everyone else in Massachusetts is playing a 6/46 lotto, our guy is playing a 6/45 game. His chances of winning the lotto are now 1:8,145,060. This is reflected in a 15% improvement in the LFP.

LFP = 25/8.14506 = 3.07

But, why stop there. Serious lotto players, that follow my lotto strategies, will apply what I call the 80% rule. They will create a Play List that has 36 numbers (80% of 46). The chances of winning a 6/36 lotto are 1:1,947,792 and out LFP is 12.84. That's a phenomenal 380% improvement in LFP.

LFP = 25/1.947792 = 12.84

Now, the more numbers you remove, the greater are the chance of removing one of the winning numbers. But, we counter this with lotto trend analysis techniques. In other words, we do a good job of selecting the numbers to include in our list. I'll freely admit that it doesn't work every time, but over the long haul, an experienced player will do much better.

Before you rush off to buy some good lotto Software, let me make one more point. Here's the bottom line. I wonder how much money the average Massachusetts player would have to spend to achieve the same LFP that our serious lotto player did? Well, we just use the LFP formula in reverse.

$ spent = 12.84 x 9.366819 = $120

The serious lotto player has a host of software tools he uses to improve his LFP even further.
There is a lot of lotto advice out there. It's everywhere. Do this. Don't do that. Just trying to sort it all out is a challenge. Here are some examples of the worst lotto advice you could get.

Joining me as my assistant is that star from the Buckeye state, the poster ticket of the midwest, the Ohio Classic Lotto, 6/49 lottery.

There are 13,983,816 possible wagers in the OH649 lotto. Therefore, the chances of winning the lotto are 1 in 13,983,816. In pursuit of that elusive lotto jackpot, many people use a lotto strategy that makes little sense. At least, not to a sharp gambler who is trying to improve his chances of winning the lotto. I'll prove my point by using some logic, common sense and basic math.

Foolish Lotto Strategy #1

Many people play all odd numbers. Frankly, I don't understand the attraction. For example, they get all excited about playing 7-17-23-29-37-49 or 3-11-23-29-37-41. Perhaps if they used some good lotto software, they would soon discover, that dog doesn't hunt very often. Here's what I mean.

There are only 177,100 wagers that are made up of only odd numbers. This looks like a big number, but all of these wagers combined only represent 1.27% of all wagers! Therefore, 98.73% of the time, or 51 weeks out of the year, they didn't even have a chance of winning the lotto jackpot. They weren't even in the running. A year is a long time to go without feelin' any love!

For those of you that may have some doubts, the actual lotto drawings themselves back this up. In the last 279 drawings, over 2 1/2 years, all odd winning numbers occurred only 4 times! That's like fishin' for marlin in a mud puddle.

The Second Foolish Lotto Strategy to Avoid

That's right. You guessed it. Foolish lotto strategy #2 is playing all even numbers. But, in the case of the OH649 lotto, you're in even worse shape playing all even numbers than you were playing all odd numbers. You see, because there are 49 numbers to choose from, there are fewer even numbers than odd numbers. As a result, there are only 134,596 wagers that are made up of only even numbers. That represents only 0.96% of all wagers. Therefore, over 99% of the time (in other words, every drawing except Christmas) the player didn't stand a chance of winning the lotto jackpot. Waiting a year just to be in the running to win requires more patience than most of us have.

The OH649 lotto proves my point for me. In the last 279 drawings, wagers made up of all even numbers occurred only 3 times! That mud puddle just evaporated. So, save some money. Stop playing this way. Wouldn't you be having more fun playing the lotto if you were in the running to win the lotto 99% of the time? It can be done, you know. Serious lotto players with good lotto software do this all the time.
