How Long Will It Take For You To Achieve Success?

A common question a goal setter will ask is 'how long will it take to achieve success?' It is a valid question, especially with long range goals that could take a decade or more to achieve. As you read every word of this article, you will discover the answer, and never need to think about it again!

We set goals, and one of the first things we consider is when we want to achieve that goal by. And here is where problems begin. We have never achieved this goal before, and are trying to set a time frame to achieve this set goal. How do we decide?

Get rich quick opportunities and those that are scams will often try to sell you on making your millions in only a few months. Our question becomes 'can I achieve that in that time frame'. Yes, it is possible, however, when we join a business opportunity for example we will have our goals. Either we take the results specified or we set our own financial goal. We act, and when the time arrives, and the result is not there, we soon leave.

This is the problem, and it does not just apply to home business opportunities, whether they are legitimate or a scam. This applies to finding a soul mate, buying your dream home, etc. We set time frames which we don't accurately know we can achieve. And many who reach that time and soon leave don't get the results.

Let us consider for example an airplane. We go get a flight and we know a rough estimated time or arrival. Remember the estimated - and not definite. The plane can get there few minutes before hand, few minutes after or even very late or very early. The point to remember is that the pilot flew this journey countless times. And pilots for decades have flown the route - they know the time length, but with the goals we set, we can't give such a time frame.

Consider now Columbus. He set about to travel round the world. He took action, and had goals, but when he told the time frame of the journey, was it accurate? We are like Columbus. We have our goals, but we can't truly say how long it will take. We can make estimates, and we can be assured that it can happen in a lifetime - if only we persist. But, most people wont.
