There are people who keep their irritations, worries, upsets and fights close to their chest. They suffer or run the risk of a nervous breakdown. A friend, who, in his own words, could not tolerate his wife's nagging, kept storing it in his mind till, one day, the dam burst and led to a nervous breakdown.

Similarly, a husband must realise that just as a leopard cannot change its spots, his wife cannot change her nature. The only sensible solution for him is to cultivate a hard outer crust, which prevents her barbs penetrating his sensitive mind. He must not load his mind with unpleasant debris.

Only then will unbearable conditions become bearable. It will become easy to get along with her. He will become more "charitable." This will help the relationship. There are other advantages too. Health will improve. And physical and mental systems will function more smoothly.

POSTPONING HAPPINESS

People go through life suffering the pangs of the inner, unpleasant environment. They go on postponing their happiness. It is like saying to your self, "When I get a rich husband", or "When I get a son, I will be happy". Why live in the future and keep yearning?

Download emotional darkness. Don't wait for future conditions. Most people are as happy as they make up their minds to be! Why not make up your own mind and emerge from the grim shadows of life? Nothing prevents you from doing it. You are the one to make the choice.

If you love misery, it will cling to you. If you love mirth, it will act like a medicine. It is simply a matter of exploring an alternative emotional channel; or unclogging the clogged one. Watch this for yourself, especially when some ugly, irritating situation has arisen at home. It annoys you as well as the other family members. This is the time to use restraint and caution.

There is danger here, as your irritations will project onto others. In such a situation, it is better to "earth" it. That's the best way to download it. One good way is to hold back. Ask yourself, "What's this mess about? Does it deserve the importance I am giving it?"

A sense of humour is another way out. One husband says that the nagging of his wife seldom hurts him. The reason; "Most of the time, she thinks I am listening." Humour apart, he has a point. This may be called disciplining your mind, focusing only on what matters to you while ignoring the distractions.

A number of men (and working women) similarly carry home-worries and anxieties to their office, and tensions of the office, home. They carry domestic burdens to the office, also. In short, they have not cultivated the technique of dumping emotional garbage.

There is a way out. Sit down quietly by yourself and think: "What am I worried about? What really is involved? Am I to blame? Is it pastrelated? Should I react or keep silent?" Imagine you are counselling someone else. Get to the bottom of it. Throwaway the residue. The process of elimination is of great help.

Reduce the dark, emotional content. When a problem overwhelms you, you become emotionally over-charged. This generates anxiety. It is not only the actual thing, but also the shock of it that affects you and upsets your emotional rhythm. Your husband throws a lavish party. It is not the money spent that shocks you; it is his lack of responsibility.

In such situations, it is not easy to be rational. But you can help yourself by being quick to recognise the powerful influence it is having on you and is likely to have on your future married and family life.

A SIEVE

Cultivate the habit of making your mind like a sieve. Say to yourself, "It will make things worse if I let it go unchecked." In this way, you apply brakes. The momentum of misery is broken. Nobody can totally eliminate unpleasantness from life. But everyone can control it or mitigate it. That much you owe yourself.

There is no dearth of women who disrupt their leisure and relaxation with sad thoughts. They feel guilty if they do not nurture the bad feelings of the previous day. They think it is their duty to be miserable! A woman I know clings to everything that has dealt a deadly blow to her. Loss of health of her husband has become the focus of her life.

The problem is that she makes no efforts to jump over the fence of frustration. She wallows in self-pity. Because of it, she is shunned.

An unpleasant life is made of unpleasant thoughts. If you aim at being pleasant for one day, you can do it. Imagine yourself going through the day with a singing heart, tackling difficulties, overcoming obstacles, and see the smile decorating your face.

Human nature is such that you cannot scowl, sob and smile at the same time. Smile and you cannot scowl or sob. You may have nothing to make you burst into hearty laughter; but remember, a smile is a whispered version of laughter!

Unpleasantness is best buried. Life renews itself every day. So, should you not be shedding the stale and the stagnant? Unhappy love relations and broken affairs afflict the lives of many young girls. It is better to analyse them instead of brooding over them. Whatever the kind of disaster into which the young girl pours her emotions, that becomes her secret, sentimental goal.

Norah, a love-afflicted girl, is in an emotional vacuum. She is in an inflated "sacrifice" syndrome. Her unconscious mind rotates between heartbreak, despair and depression. Instead of dwelling on these, she should make every effort to keep her mind free of unhealthy thoughts; to flush out negative regrets, vindictive vignettes, and disappointments.

She should replace them with their bright counterpoints. Optimism is more enjoyable than pessimism; just as health is pleasurable and disease is not. Whenever you can rectify and remedy a bad situation, do so and press on in life. Where nothing can be done for the present, forget it and go on. In some circumstances, no action is good action!

Lots of struggling young men and women fail in their chase for a career. They beat their breasts and lament. Maybe, one more effort would see them successful. Bury the dead past. Make another effort and see them bloom.

Mistakes are natural but useful. They make us eliminate our flaws and faults, and prepare us for a better future. One who makes no mistakes does not usually make anything else too! He who is down need not fear a further fall. Self-downing is fruitless as it atrophies the mind.

It adds nothing to achievement. Nor does it erase failure. It only adds to despair and despondency. One way to get out of the groove is to undertake some action promptly. Go out. Walk. Switch from self-condemnation to self-commendation.

Sometimes, the incident is grave and has far-reaching consequences. But then it is done. You cannot undo it. Self-recrimination cannot bring back the past. Nor can the present be wished away. The future cannot be unfolded before its time. All you can do is to live in the present. You have no other choice except positive, constructive action.

Wrongs and humiliations inflicted upon us by friends and relatives rankle the most. This happens most in a marriage. The way to forgetting gets easy if you ask yourself: who did it? If the person drips acid from his or her tongue, he or she cannot help it. Nature has given a sting to a scorpion.

Convert it into a trifle with your cool, calculated indifference. If you overreact, you walk into his trap. He or she will return it manifold and enjoy your misery. It is no use losing your sleep or peace of mind over the utterances of a person who feeds on stinking imaginary bits of another's character. You will be none the worse for turning a deaf ear.

Resentment is not thinking; it is playing a scene of a video film again and again. It causes unhappiness if you refuse to let it go.

SENSE OF HUMOUR

Often, the aspects of an ugly situation are replayed in the imagination. You repeat the words of an adversary, as also your own retort. You imagine more stinging retorts and redeliver them on rethinking! The mortification of misery can be avoided by cancelling the original remark, that sparked off the ill feeling.

If you have a sense of humour, you develop a sense of proposition too. When husband and wife can see the funny side of a situation, they do not remain morbid for long. There is nothing like a good laugh - to dispel the odour of unpleasantness.

When you have a home business, one of the most important things that you can do is to find a client base that you can focus on. In fact, if you want to be successful with your home business, finding the right type of client base for your needs is the best way that you have to do this. You have to be sure that you find the client base that will work best with you, and that you are able to do this as easily as possible. Therefore, there are some steps that you can follow when you are finding your client base.

The first thing that you can do when you are finding your client base is to make sure that you have narrowed down exactly what you are looking for. Remember that there are two options when it comes to your business that you should be focusing on. Do you have a home business that is attracting local business, such as a dog grooming place or a hairdresser? Or, do you have a business that can have customers from anywhere, such as a party supply store? This is the first step in deciding who your customers are. Do you want them to be local people, or can they be people from anywhere in the world?

After you have made this decision, the next step is going to be making sure that you are able to find the right gender and age group for your company. You might also focus on things like ethnic groups, if you have a company that is making products especially for one group of people. No matter what type of product you have, there is going to be a base of people who are going to want it. This can be business men, dog owners, or people with children. No matter what type of business you have, you need to focus on who the people are that you want to be buying your products or asking for your services.

Once you have narrowed down your customer base as much as possible, you can begin to look at other things. The first thing that you will start to look at will be the advertising that you can do to attract your customers. This something that is important because you might be able to find that advertising can not only solidify your customer base but can also bring more customers each day. If you are looking for local customers, the advertising that you do will be mostly local, such as posters or flyers or radio spots. If you are looking for world wide customers, you will do most of your advertising online, because this is the best way to reach the biggest group of people. No matter what you are thinking of for your customer base, you should be able to find advertising that meets your needs and allows you to reach this customer base as soon as possible. This will be the best way for you to have your business grow.

An Expensive Website Marketing Mistake That Didn't Have to Happen

"Can you give me some feedback on my website?" a life coach named "Larry" asked on a forum. "I just revised my site - -finally!"

Naturally, I couldn't resist clicking over to see what Larry had done. I knew Larry was a thoughtful life coach with a reputation for high integrity.

Larry's new site cried out for a makeover. He had paid a designer to get elaborate drop-down menus and a bit of flash. As a result, Larry admitted, "I have no budget to pay a copywriter."

Ouch. After skimming a few pages of the site, I emailed Larry. "Who is your target market? What do you offer? How are you unique?"

Larry replied, "I asked for feedback. I don't have time to answer a lot of questions. And everyone tells me the site looks professional."

Well, the site looks awfully professional. But he admits he's in trouble. So far, he's gotten nothing but compliments -- no orders and no calls.

What can we learn from Larry?

(1) Copywriters can save you money. Larry didn't need all those expensive bells and whistles. In fact, some Internet marketing gurus claim they do more harm than good.

And Larry didn't understand HTML, let alone CSS. A copywriter might serve as go-between, translating Larry's requirements into web design language. Your web designer saves time -- which translates into saving money.

In fact, these days Larry could bypass several steps in the design process and go directly to Wordpress. A copywriter can help you choose a theme to support your message most effectively.

(2) Copywriters help you earn money. Buried deeply in the text of Larry's site, I discovered Larry's hidden treasures. He has developed an innovative 5-step process to help clients overcome obstacles and take charge of their lives.

But Larry doesn't realize why he's unique, so his website reads like five thousand other life coaching sites: vague promises of "take your life to the next level," "discover what's important to you" and "enjoy the work you love."

Naturally I'm disguising the details of "Larry's" story, but I really don't have to. Hundreds (maybe thousands) of sites sound just like Larry's.

(3) Copywriting helps you develop a clearer strategy. Like Larry, my clients often think they can show me a few pages of a website and say, "Make it sell!" Copywriting requires energy and planning, whether you're a do-it-yourselfer or a firm believer in outsourcing to a specialist.

So while you're working with your copywriter, you might realize you've go a hole in your strategy that needs to be plugged. More likely you realize realize you are sitting on a gold mine.

Be Smart When Choosing a Payday Lead Provider

Most lenders deal in the option of payday loans because of the increasing demand for them among borrowers. This rising rate of demand, however, has increased competition dramatically in the market and has now become very important for the avid finance companies to obtain new and fresh leads that assure a good revenue.

Something very important to ensure before making an investment in a payday loan lead company is the quality of offered leads. One must verify the leads before going ahead with any deal. In many cases, if the lender is not satisfied with the offered set of leads, or is not able to earn the profit they expected, they he can exchange those leads for new, fresh ones.

This is usually an easy process with a letter identifying who you are and by explaining the reason behind the request for new leads. Usually, no extra charges will be issued for getting this assistance from the service providers.

Before you sign with any lead company, make sure you review the clause they have for their requirements for exchanging leads. You don't want to find out later that they charge you a fee or that they refuse to do it at all.

There are several ways to obtain these leads. Many lenders opt for a real-time system that their service providers sends them where they can decide to purchase the lead or not based on their underwriting. Some lenders aren't at computers all day and like to opt for email leads.

More lenders actually do opt for the real-time lead medium as it ensures them the quick service of profitable leads. Always remember that lenders usually suffer great loss in their businesses because they forget the significance of verifying leads.

Most payday loan lead service providers are committed to providing leads which are excellent and are targeted to your demographic. A reliable loan leads provider won't have the need to demand anything of their lenders because they don't have the extra fees to apply to your account.

Just like you advise your borrowers, research the reliability and reputation of your service providers to ensure you won't be taken advantage of. One way you can do this is by relying on the ranking system of leading Internet search engines, because those websites that have secured top positions on the serach engines are more likely to have application forms that are completely filled out.

It is also a good idea to visit each lead service providers website so that you can understand their policies and conditions. It is important to do good market research so that you have a clear idea about the different rates that exist in the market.

Do not get caught up in the tempting offers unless you verify the provider. There are unregistered and fraudulent providers that offer great packages that don't end up bearing you any fruit, but rotten fruit.

Reliable loan lead service providers will charge higher fees than the ones you see with those tempting offers, but they will be good companies for you to work with.

The financial services market has grown significantly in recent years. With the current economic struggles we are facing, people will need money more than ever to take care of their urgent personal financial issues. Be it loans for business, vacation or education, the entire range of loans is available with many different lenders.

Also, as financial lenders are in the business of offering loan assistance to their borrowers, many loan lead service providers are dealing in the business of providing good loan leads to lenders. That is how the entire financial services market works.

There are many loan leads, the most popular and usable range of leads is the payday loan lead. If you are are among that category of lender then you should immediately start buying leads as they will take your business in a new direction.

Before you start the process of buying payday loan leads, it is essential for you to understand some very basic things. First off, make sure that you manage to only buy fresh leads which have not been used by other lenders. Second, opt for the Internet generated leads because they are usually more fresh and can be sent real-time.

Getting quality payday loan leads are a smart way to increase your future business prospects. So, some effective and well planned research should be done regarding the lead service providers that exist out there. You need to do some serious market research before jumping in to anything. The best and most reliable way to obtain authentic and reliable payday loan leads are through large lead aggregators.

To search for the most suitable and reliable payday loan lead service provider, you can make use of the Internet. It is all at your fingertips, as it were. Take note of the ranking on all leading search engines. Always opt for a service provider who has a high ranking on the search engines because they will most likely have the applications that are filled out thoroughly by your category of borrowers.

In addition to this, you should pay good heed to the authenticity and quality of the leads you buy. Many service providers have a clause of replacing your old leads in the event you do not find them worthy. If you wish to take advantage of this, simply send a letter to your provider with identification and a reason as to why you are exchanging your leads.

Once you are done selecting a suitable payday loan lead service provider and are ready to finalize the deal, make sure that you specifically inquire about the thorough contact information of every lead you have. For if you do not do this you open up the possibility of purchasing non register and uncertified leads.

In order to ensure you have a profitable business, it is important for you to take advantage of all facilities in the market so that the opportunities for growing your business and making a great profit are guaranteed.

Information Technology Marketing in Europe : Keys to Success

The objective of this article is to examine the following two challenges, and propose solutions based on the Authors experience of more than 10 years marketing and selling software in Europe:

- Identifying sales opportunities for enterprise software at mid and large companies
- How a multi-cultural Europe presents it s own unique challenges to this

The sales lead generation process for technology companies is very different from lead generation in other industries. Technology sector needs are much more precise: the target audience is much more difficult to reach; the products or services are generally complex, high-value, and high-end; and the evaluation and selection process can be quite long, taking months, if not years, to bring the target from initial contact to closing the sale.

Leads in the technology sector are not discovered simply by a reference or a cold-call. Leads are nurtured from simple possible interest in services right until the final purchase decision. In traditional lead generation, the target could be anyone from a low level employee to a CEO, and you can span the entire range of B2B. In technology sales, however, the target market is almost exclusively B2B, and the target individuals are usually decision makers high up the corporate ladder. Identifying the target isnt always difficult, but reaching them can be.

As a sales representative in the IT industry, you need to identify and reach the key influencers, evaluators, and recommenders, or you stand no chance of moving towards a sale.

Even when you do get to speak to the key decision makers, unless you completely understand the client s internal structure and can distinguish between Line of Business (LOB) and Technical Contacts, you will not gain success.

Regardless of how well you know your own products, to sell them you will need to understand the systems and processes of your potential clients. In order to accomplish this, you will need not only a broad understanding of enterprise software & enterprise technologies, but also a broad understanding of the underlying business issues and goals of your potential client. Unless you fully understand this situation, you can t fully understand how your products and services can fit their needs.

When combining all of the above with a myriad of cultures and languages, it is clear that a single approach to generating demand in all of the countries in Europe simply will not work. As a first step, let us look at the particular challenges of doing business in Europe.

1.	The Challenge of Doing Business in Europe

While Europe is now in theory a single market, from a sales perspective, nothing could be further from the truth. Treating Europe as a single market with each country receiving the same messages with the same marketing tactics will guarantee failure.

While there are many obstacles to selling software in Europe (including political, currency and costs) the following are the three most important ones to be dealt with in the Authors experience:

Language Obstacles

Although there are more than 200 languages in Europe, there are really only about a dozen that are required for successful selling in Europe. Of these, most software companies agree that the five majors are absolutely essential. These are English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. Of course other languages such as Portuguese, Dutch, the Nordics and CEE (Central & Eastern European) are also extremely important when considering selling to all of Europe.

The costs of dealing in all of these languages can become considerable. Collateral and web sites may need to be translated and reprinted. Telesales and telemarketing staff need to be hired to cover the languages. Support staff may be required to have these languages, and either field sales fluent in the languages or local Resellers will be required.

Cultural Obstacles

The sales approach and sales process will be dictated by the cultural norms of each country in Europe. In some countries long standing relationships between buyers and sellers are of paramount importance, while in others the credibility and branding of the seller may be more important.

These differences will dictate whether a direct sales approach or an indirect approach using VAR s and Resellers will be most suitable.

Proximity Obstacles

One of the greatest challenges for software companies trying to sell in Europe is the fact that Buyers like to do business locally. This means at the very least, a sales office in their country, although preferably a fully functional office with both sales, support and perhaps some product development at the location. However, in reality this is often not practical.

In order to sell around this obstacle it is important that the software company makes themselves look and feel as close to the potential Buyer as possible. This means having collateral in the local language, support in the local language and perhaps even having the software itself localized.

Using indirect channels such as resellers and VAR s can also help get beyond the proximity obstacles, at least in the early days of entering a market.

Direct response advertising and direct marketing methodology are the dynamic duo that have been used by successful marketers for decades to build long term customer relationships a.k.a. relationship marketing.

But it's the introduction of new media like blogging and social networking sites that web 2.0 strategies provide, that has got two-way dialogue humming.

If you want to eliminate cold calling, open doors and close deals then you simply must pay attention to the new web 2.0 opportunities that are taking relationship marketing to a whole new level.

Remember, people are either looking on the internet for information or entertainment. So they are looking to connect with someone who can provide an answer to their question or solution to their problem, either business or pleasure, or both. Web 2.0 is all about conversational media and it's your job to provide both content and connection and be "seen" out and about in all the right places to hold up your end of the conversation.

Here's 3 top ways business owners and entrepreneurs can build profitable long term relationships using social media.

1. Blogging

A blog is simply an online journal published for the public to read and is similar to a website except it's updated regularly with journal entries, known as posts which are organized by date. You get to set the agenda and the topics and post as often as you like. Search engines love blogs because of the frequent fresh content which is why when your prospective client is searching on a topic using your key-words, they will likely find you.

What really sets them apart from a website is people can leave comments and that's where the 2-way dialogue kicks in. But there's more. Other people can read their messages (which you get to approve before posting) and leave one themselves. They can even forward it to friends and colleagues and sign up to receive a notice every time you post a new blog.

2. Social networking

Social networking is not new. We have been building relationships both personal and business by meeting and connecting with people socially in all sorts of places. But it's the on-line social networking that has opened up a whole new dimension. Sites like Facebook, MySpace, Linked In and Plaxo are multiplying rapidly to create choices for personal and business socializing that provide unlimited, world wide reach and the best part is it's free. And fun.

Remember, you are looking to build relationships, not catch and kill. So behave as you would when getting to know someone new and save your sales pitch for the right opportunity.

You can promote your events, products, website or other interesting offers but make sure that's balanced with genuine interest in your new friends.

3. Podcasting

Podcasts are short audio or video programs that are distributed over the internet and search engines love them so they will drive traffic to your site. And prospects can get to know your better when they can see and hear you.

There are many podcast directories that organize and display podcasts and people can search on them for topics of interest and that's how they find you. People can also subscribe and download automatically when new content is added so you reach your market rapidly.

You can even repurpose the same digital media files that you create for your website for downloading or streaming. The difference is podcast directories provide syndication so they are made available to multiple other sites, giving you far greater reach. It comes with it's own feed so you upload once and it is generated automatically across the Web.

Not only are these methods efficient but they are free and you can integrate them so you can really maximize your efforts and power up your marketing.

"Freakin' nuts", is what average chiropractors think when they hear about what most of the REALLY successful chiropractors are doing and (advocating other docs do) during these wild economic times. Let's face it...

The ups and downs of the stock market and the constant bad news about our economy are wreaking havoc with the finances of many chiropractors. Cash flow is shrinking, appointments are dropping off, and less prospective new patients are calling.

And, for average chiropractors it's SCARY. Rightly so. Meanwhile, the members of the highest-earning bracket of chiropractors are loving life.

They've yet to see their practices take any significant step backwards in cash flow or office visits. In fact, some have actually experienced growth in their cash flow, even with everything taking place on Wall Street.

So, what are these high-earning chiropractors doing that the average chiropractors aren't. Well, it's no what they're doing that the average docs aren't. The better question is what are the doctors with the shrinking offices NOT doing that the millionaire chiropractors are.

The answer... marketing, marketing and more chiropractic marketing. Aggressive chiropractic marketing to be more specific.

You see, what the wealthiest, most successful chiropractors understand is that marketing for chiropractors is the lifeblood of their practice. It's the engine that drives their practice growth.

It's THE thing that allows their practice to survive and thrive. Nothing else. And, because of that, your chiropractic practice marketing should be the very last thing to ever get cut our of a budget.

"Marketing is muscle, not fat. Be careful about cutting it", one journalist wrote. Unfortunately, that's exactly what so many struggling chiropractors have done - they've cut their chiropractic marketing budget way back, if not eliminated it altogether.

What a MONSTROUS MISTAKE! In fact, a recent article in Business Week, "Five Don'ts for Marketing in Tough Times", said it best...

"Just as the savviest investors view down markets as a time to buy when everybody else is selling, the savviest marketers know recessions are a great time to pick up market share.

They understand that by maintaining their budgets (or even increasing them) they may not come out ahead during the down times, but they can pick up market share that will pay off in the long run.

Marketing dollars in a recession are like oxygen on Mt. Everest, the less there is in the surrounding environment, the more valuable the amount you possess becomes.

Cutting your marketing spending is a sure way to give ground to competitors who may be more aggressive during the downturn."

And ,if that wasn't enough, here's what John A. Quelch said in a recent HBS Newsletter: "It is well documented that brands that increase advertising during a recession, when competitors are cutting back, can improve market share and return on investment at lower cost than during good economic times."

Lastly, here's what Business Maven, Laurie J. Storey-Manseau, had to say in the New Hampshire Business Review: "When times are tough and business is slow, marketing is the very last thing that ought to be cut. Now, more than ever, companies must make themselves and their products known.

But I recently came across a great quote from marketer Chris Lockhead of Mercury: "Go ahead. Cut your marketing budget when things get tough. I get it. That's like saying 'I'll throw some logs on that fire when it warms up in here.'"

It is critical to keep stoking the fire of your marketing campaign. And face it, keeping the fire burning now means you won't have to rub two sticks together - starting from scratch! - when the economy improves."

You see, when it comes to marketing for chiropractors, the last thing doctors should be thinking about right now, is cutting back on their marketing. No.

Instead, what you should be thinking about when it comes to your practice marketing, is doing it more efficiently. effectively, and aggressively. I believe chiropractic marketing online is the best way to do that.

As I said, the key to surviving and even thriving in these tough economic times is improving your chiropractic advertising efficiency and effectiveness. While it is not a black box you can throw money into and expect great results, the web is a proven chiropractic marketing medium that can generate phenomenal returns for you.

Successful online chiropractic marketing campaigns can often take time, effort, and creativity; however, these efforts can certainly provide a substantial ROI when compared to pricey traditional offline marketing for chiropractors.

The key, though, regardless of whether you do it online or offline, is that you continue marketing your chiropractic practice.

    * Continue to invest money in generating new patient leads.
    * Continue to invest money in marketing to inactive patients. * Continue to invest money in your niche chiropractic marketing and advertising.

Don't stop. Don't even slow down. Let other competing doctors around you do that.

Let your competition make the fatal mistake of thinking that in tough, trying-times the correct decision is to cut-off the ONE and ONLY activity that can fix a decline in cash flow and new patient flow. And, while they do that, you continue doing your chiropractic marketing... and when all is said and done with this crazy economy... you'll be the #1 chiropractor in your geographic area making some serious bank! It happens all the time.

Copywriting for independent professionals means creating web pages to display your skills. But most indie professionals feel self-conscious when they describe themselves. They don't want to brag. And they realize that vague promises ("I am a good listener" or, "I help clients find solutions") aren't very convincing anyway.

Telling success stories about your work is the best way to convince prospective clients that you are the best possible resource to help them reach their goals. Whether you need to develop a new accounting system or a new mindset, you can use a few techniques to demonstrate how you deliver results.

My own clients call when they want a website makeover that will attract more business with less effort. Often they have trouble clarifying the benefits they deliver. They may be unaware of what makes them unique. Before I write copy and create content, I ask them to write out at least 3 stories.

These success stories will help you identify the benefits you provide your clients. Often you will also recognize why you are unique: your approach, process and experience.

Success stories differ from testimonials because you write them yourself. They tend to be longer. You can disguise names and details, so you protect your clients' privacy.

Here are some ways to write your own success stories quickly, so that you will attract the prospects and clients you want for your online business.

(1) Review experiences you have had with your own clients. Choose stories about clients who most resemble your ideal target market. If you target women over 40, don't base your story on a twenty-something male client.

(2) Explain your client's situation before you were hired. For example, "John's business was going well and he was just starting to enjoy life. Then a crisis developed..."

(3) Explain what you did after you were hired. For example, did you use any processes that you created? What were your first steps?

For example, you might say, "I have worked in the industry for ten years. So I can get all the information I need in a four hour visit. The competition takes three days. Who needs a consultant parked on the job site for three days?"

(4) Highlight what was visibly different after you completed your project. Look for tangible outcomes. Try to dollarize your results, if at all possible. Otherwise look for scores and numbers.

For example: "After my training section, the Director said my evaluations were the highest they had seen." An even stronger result would be, "After we implemented my suggestions, my client 'Susan' was able to create reports faster with fewer staff."

(5) Use your stories to create your promotional materials, including your website. You can also add a page of success stories to demonstrate how you help clients. Now you've shown what you can do -- without bragging or boasting.

Follow these steps and you will have success stories that communicate your value to your prospective clients. Show how you deliver unique services and your success stories will become the foundation of your promotional strategy.
