Traffic Accidents are a cause for hundreds of thousands of death every single year. Each city has thousands of statistics each year and thousand of car crashes to create these statistics. How can we decrease the amount of car wrecks and accidents that occur within traffic every single year? We can create better drivers, follow the rules of the road and be courteous to the other vehicles on the road. Slowing down on the road could decrease the amount of accidents that occur by more than twenty percent.

A major percentage of the accidents that occur have speed as a factor. Many people on the roads are just going too fast and not taking into account speed limits. The conditions of the road have a lot to do with how we should pay attention to the speed limit and adhere to it as law. Good conditions, snowy conditions or even foggy conditions are not an excuse to go over the speed limit. During times of unclear weather it is even more important to slow down while driving.

Never take your eyes off the road and clear all distractions from the driver of the vehicle while it is operating. There are many things that act as a distraction while driving a vehicle. These include; cellular telephones, makeup, loud music or distracting and loud conversations within the vehicle while the driver is trying to concentrate. Drivers should do their best to avoid talking on the telephone while driving the vehicle. Even using a Bluetooth device such as a headset can prove fatal and can cause many accidents. Applying makeup or listening to other conversations that are happening in the vehicle distracts the driver from the road. A cautious and alert driver should not be involved in any collisions that are the drivers fault.
