If you've reached the point of exhaustion trying to keep up with answering the mountain of e-mails that threatens to bury you alive every single day, you're ready to learn about autoresponders.

The bad news is that people expect prompt replies to their e-mail inquiries. However, unless you can figure out how to work continual 24-hour shifts, or hire enough people to constantly monitor incoming e-mails (while they're eating up your revenue), you have a problem. The good news is an autoresponder is an inexpensive—or even free—method of quickly responding to e-mails. What these programs do is automatically respond to incoming e-mails as soon as they are received.

E-mails are essential to your business for many different reasons. Most importantly, these invisible e-mail voices give you their feedback about your website—for free! However, if you spend all your working hours answering these e-mails, how are you supposed to run your business?

The answer is simple: use autoresponders. Autoresponders are programs that automatically respond to your e-mails without you so much as having to click on your mouse.

There are a number of good reasons why you need an autoresponder besides just answering your e-mail. For example, autoresponders can be used if you need a way to send information about your services or products, price lists, or if there are repeated questions asked across large numbers of e-mails. Maybe you want to offer your site visitors a special bonus of some kind, such as advice or relevant articles. All of this can be handled by an autoresponder. Additionally, you can advertise your business and then build stable relationships with your customers by using autoresponders.

Autoresponder programs vary from software that runs with your e-mail program to a specialized script that runs on your web hosting company's server. This kind of script may use a web page form or simply operate with your e-mail account. This kind of script is programmed to send out a standardized message whenever an e-mail is received. The message is sent to a particular script or e-mail address.

Some autoresponders can do more than simply send out standardized messages. They can send out an unlimited number of follow-up messages sent at predetermined interval of time. For example, you can set your autoresponder to send out a new message every day for as long a period as you desire.

There are numerous companies who offer autoresponders free of charge. Your website hosting company often provides autoresponders as a free service. If this is not the case with your web hosting company, there are numerous companies who offer this service for a small fee, or free of charge, providing you attach an advertisement for their company to your e-mails.

To personalize your autoresponder messages, you can attach a signature. Signatures in this case are much like business cards. You can include your name, company, all your contact numbers and addresses, and a brief message.

It's a good idea to attach a signature to every e-mail that is sent out. This works as a repeated reminder of your business identity every time a customer sees it. The more they look at your signature, the more likely your company will spring to mind when your particular service or product is needed.

You can create a standardized signature that every employee in your business uses, or you can go wild, and let every staff member create their own personal signature. Of course, like everything in life, there are some rules and guidelines to creating a personal signature.

Keep the length of your signature between four to six lines of text, with no more than 70 characters in a single line. Make sure that your e-mail program does not cut off your text! The content should include your name, your company name, your e-mail address, fax number, and any other contact details, such as 800 numbers. Lastly, always include a short personal message about your company. It should be a subtle sell of your services or your products, and possibly your company's reliability and longevity.

Another specialized use of autoresponders is to create courses that you can then offer your site visitors for free. You must choose a topic in which you are an expert and that precisely targets your potential customers.

Once you have carefully chosen your subject, divide it into a number of different sub-topics. Then offer your site visitor a free 10 or 15 day course, each day offering a different sub-topic. The first topic should always be a welcome message to your site visitor and an explanation about what is to follow. Your explanation should be enticing, getting the point across that you are offering free, quality information that your target audience will find of great value.

With every lesson, include the number of the lesson, the topic title, information about your company and its services or products. At the end, include a few blurbs about the next lesson to entice the subscriber to continue on.

Make sure each topic is packed with essential and valuable information, and leaves the visitor lusting to know more. Otherwise, you may lose them in the very beginning.

Of course, you have to write up your course before you can offer it. Once you have done this, and gone over the material carefully, employing a professional writer or editor if necessary, you must transfer your text to your autoresponder.

There are a number of quality autoresponders you can try out for a free or low-priced trial. Just go to Google and search 'autoresponders', then sign-up for your chosen autoresponder. Once you do, you will receive instructions as to how to set it up and transfer your text.

E-mail is an excellent marketing tool; it is inexpensive and it is fast. Use it to advertise your business by choosing your e-mail address carefully. Your website should contain different e-mail addresses for different contact requests. For example, use info@yourdomain.com for information requests, or sales@yourdomain.com for questions about sales. It's a good idea to set up one for the owner, such as president@yourdomain.com. This presents your company in a personal, approachable light and insures that direct contact is provided.

Autoresponders are an effective and powerful marketing tool, allowing you to make contact with thousands of potential customers. This is an invaluable asset considering how many potential customers you usually have contact with before you make an actual sale. Essentially, an autoresponder allows you to automate part of your marketing campaign.

When I talk about getting started in building your own profitable email list I don't want to spend time with the basics. The basic for email list building includes your Free offer, your squeeze page and your opt-in form. Hopefully you already know about those parts, if you don't then get educated and then come back and read the rest of this article.

I'm going on the assumption you already have the above 3 parts.

So let's get started.

Sit down with a clean sheet of paper and write out all of the ways you know of to drive traffic to your squeeze page. For more details www.mailing-list-gold.com Don't evaluate, don't think about it too hard, just write as many as quickly as you can.

My list would include: writing and submitting articles, list exchanges, JV partners, classified ads, eBay, local cheap newspaper ads, radio ads, flyers on everyone's door, mailing letters, Craigslist.....

Ok, you see some of my ideas are good, some are....well downright "stupid". Try and think of at least 20 different ways to drive traffic to your squeeze page. This really is the start to effective list building.

Next evaluate which 3 you feel would be the best for you. You may be the type that hates writing anything. You may feel you have nothing to write about, or you've had a few bad experiences in English class, or maybe you don't have a good command of the language. Fine, choose something else. It really doesn't matter what you choose, just choose 3.

Once you chosen, make the personal commitment to work on #1 for 30 minutes for 2 days this week. Choose #2 and commit to working on it for 15 minutes 2 days this week. Your success in list building will be determined by whether you will follow through on your own commitment.

Then do it!! It doesn't matter how much you actually get done. You don't have to complete the task, just work on it.

What you'll discover is just the act of "doing something" will give you the momentum to accomplishing something. For more details www.build-own-list.com Let's say you work on #1 for the entire week. Let's say that #1 only produces 3 visits to your squeeze page. And #2 only produces 2 visits. That's 5 visits more than you had starting the week.

Now repeat the process. Work on #1, and #2 again. Similar results...5 more visitors, but now you will also have 5 visitors from your previous week's work. That's 10 visit total this week.

The 3rd week is 15 visitors, 4th week 20 visitors. So at the end of 4 weeks you would have a total of 50 visitors to your squeeze page. I know this doesn't sound like much but listing building starts small and builds momentum week after week.

Stay the course. Spend the time, make the effort and you will see your list building effort produce results. There are many different ways to build your list. To find other ways or to get some inspiration and motivation look for free ebooks and free reports on list building.

Opt in for these, read the ebooks you receive, use the material and ideas you like. Then if you don't like the material just quickly unsubscribe and you've got no further hassles. Plus you'll have some great new ideas to use.

Having a list building technique is synonymous with success for any website or internet based business. List building is used to collect information from visitors so that future contact can be made. In some cases the individual or business may want to send a newsletter or some other follow up type correspondence. By having this contact information the company can send marketing attempts to try and generate further revenue. This comes in especially handy when traffic is down or sales are following a flat line pattern.

There are a number of ways to collect contact information for websites. There are squeeze pages, sign up pages and other techniques that fall under the list building campaigns. For more details www.mailing-list-gold.com Some sites come right out and ask for the visitors email, physical address or other personal contact information, while others attempt to gain the information a little more sneaky. Most advertising advocates boast that whichever method works is the one that should be used! If a squeeze page is used, then it should be very specific and work appropriately.

Any list building technique should work and have at least half of the visitors leaving their information. If half are not leaving their information, the site owner should consider employing a different technique. Testing and tracking the results of any type of marketing is always suggested to ensure that it works appropriately and is worth the money spent. If the program is failing it should be removed at once and replaced with a more effective list building strategy.

How Do I Build My List in Under 30 Days?

List building is something that does not happen overnight, however with a few solid marketing methods and some hard work you can have a big list in just 30 days. One of the most common questions I get asked is how do I build my list? Many people are aware that they need to build a responsive list, but just do not know how to do it quickly.

To build a list of buyers you have to market to the correct crowd. I have two main marketing methods that I use which bring me consistent, targeted traffic which I can turn into buyers.

My first tip for list building is article marketing. Whether you like it or not, nothing builds a targeted list quite like article marketing. See most people think that you have to write a great among of articles to build a list, which is just not true. For more details www.build-own-list.com I have had several of my articles get me tons of traffic! If you write 20 well researched articles each month in a niche that is not overcrowded you can build a list of buyers fast.

The other method I use is Google AdWords. Adwords is great for building a list, because you can test a page instantly to see if it is going to bring you profits long term. When people ask how do I build, I always tell them to use Google AdWords as a part of your campaign.

List building is crucial, but it is also important that you stay in touch with your list in order to build a responsive list of buyers. If you are building but not providing value to your list of customers then you need to start trying to build better relationships with your list.

One of the ongoing discussions in the world of Internet marketing is whether it's worthwhile to participate in free "list-building giveaways" as a contributor.

In these events, sometimes several hundred marketers ban together on a big list-building project. Each marketer contributes a gift related to the theme of the giveaway. Some events allow more than one gift per contributor.

The marketers list their gifts on the main giveaway site, but generally require those collecting the gifts to visit their individual sites and join their mailing list, prior to giving them access to the gifts.

This is how you build your list as a contributor.

The question is, "Since these new subscribers were forced through a squeeze page and may not have otherwise joined your list are they good subscribers?"

A second question is "Since they just finished downloading a TON of free gifts, why would they turn around and buy anything from you.

Let look briefly at both of those questions.

In response to the first question, I teach that you have to take your time and build a meaningful relationship with your new subscribers. For more details http://www.confessions-followup-marketing.com Deliver genuine value and they will stay on your list. Then, if you offer things that they need, they will buy from you because they feel a connection.

Building that relationship STARTS with offering a quality gift on that very first contact. So many people who participate in free list-building giveaways offer gifts that they would be INSULTED if someone offered the same gifts to them.

I participate in free giveaways with excellent results. For more details www.craigs-list-profits.com The gifts that I offer are often brand new audios, software, and ebooks that I create especially for the giveaways. I do reuse them later. I always make sure that the gifts I offer has high perceived value.

When you give your new subscribers something that actually helps them, they are likely to stick around, and grow to "know, like and trust you" because they see that you actually care about them.

In response to the second question, I sometimes offer low-priced products right on the download page where I give the free gift. If the offer is enticing enough, a high percentage of these customers will buy.

However, I also understand that part of my job as an ezine publisher is to serve as a filter. If my new subscribers did indeed download lots of different items from a free giveaway, and a percentage of them were... JUNK, but mine was high quality, then they learn to expect quality from me, and will pay more attention to future offers from me than they will from the marketers who filled their hard drives with a bunch of useless "fluff."

So to the question, "Will subscribers from free giveaways EVER buy anything? the answer is an unequivocal YES, provided you did your job.

What was your job though?

It was to treat the new potential subscribers that visit these free giveaway sites with the same respect that you'd like to receive. It's to treat these new "customers" as the life's blood of your business. Treated right, they will be.

Do you reckon it's true? Okay you're not up on this web stuff. Have it drummed into you at the seminars and webinars, and whatever 'ars' I've missed out.

Seriously though, I can understand why newbie's to this online business give up. There is so much information spinning around your head, it's enough to paralyse you with 'information overload'.

I am a firm believer in building a list though (stating the obvious by now).

People know alot about driving traffic, but they don't push the traffic. Why? Probably because the technological aspect of creating a Lead Capture Page with an opt- in form seems so arduous and they haven't got so far as to seriously plan traffic generation because of course, you need a site, funnel to start collecting names and emails.

I can really sympathize with people in this situation. It used to paralyse me too. The idea of creating a tasty looking squeeze page was either for web designers or folks who had the dough to outsource that work.

If you have money in abundance then fine. If you don't, then you seriously need to concentrate on the basic technical aspects of creating a basic Lead Capture Page. If you want to learn to create a good basic webpage, Google it, take a look on Youtube for some tutorials. There's an abundance of resources out there, and free ones if you look hard enough.

Personally, as a former technophobe, I found my way through the dreaded html, and found a method to put together an attractive looking Lead Capture Page in a few minutes.

Once you have that down to a tee, driving traffic is the interesting part. That is when you have a system in place. For more details www.email-auto-format.com Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat.
If you want to build a solid internet business that will stand the test of time then you need to focus all your efforts on list building. Let us look at for example say you can generate 5,000 visitors to your website every month. If you convert one percent of that selling a $20 ebook you will make 50 sales which is the equivalent of $1,000 a month.

Now if you were to focus on list building and of those 5,000 visitors you convert to 1,000 subscribers a month based on a twenty percent conversion of your squeeze page. For more details www.autoresponders-unlimited.com If you earn 1 dollar a month for every subscriber after a year you will have 12,000 subscribers and be earning $12,000 a month.

I only wish I understood this much earlier in my internet marketing career as this would have dramatically boosted my income. Most affiliates will send all their traffic the affiliate sales page and not build their own business.

List building can be likened to weight training. The more training that you do the better that you become. It is best to focus all your efforts on traffic sources that will buy from you. Some traffic sources are worthless like banner exchanges and traffic exchanges.

You need to implement a different variety of methods to drive traffic to your squeeze pages. Say for example you use 10 different methods and each produces 3 leads a day that is the equivalent of 30 subscribers a day or 900 a month.

Here are some proven traffic sources that you can use to get traffic to your squeeze pages.
Ebooks are the fastest growing segment of the book publishing industry. Each year, more and more new and established authors digitally publish their fiction, non-fiction, poetry, screenplays and scripts in ebook form.

One of the most common hurdles authors face is how to make their ebook readable on as many different ebook reading platforms and devices as possible. There's the Amazon Kindle, the Sony Reader, the Apple iPhone and iPOD Touch, just for starters.

Here are five ebook self publishing and formatting tips to help make your book as successful as possible:

1. The Page is Dead - In traditional print publishing, the notion of the "page" is critical. All your pages have numbers, and these page numbers are probably referenced either in your table of contents or your index. for more detials:-www.ebook-author-interview.com.With ebooks, the notion of the page is turned upside down, literally. All ebook readers have a different idea of what constitutes a page, because they may have different screen heights and widths, or the number of pages may change based on whether your reader is holding their iPhone vertically or horizontally. The number of pages may also change if the reader increases the font size or changes the font style, or chooses to read your book with double line spacing instead of single spacing. So bottom line, try to avoid page numbers, especially for long form narrative. If you MUST include page numbers, then limit your ebook outputs to PDF files, because PDFs do a good job of maintaining formatting (even though PDFs are a horrible e-reading format).

2. Keep the formatting simple - Readers buy your books for the words and stories, not the formatting. Complicated formatting can get in the way of the reader consuming the words in your book. You want to make sure your book is optimized to be read as plain text, which is how most e-readers display your book.

3. Avoid common bad formatting habits - Print publishing is very forgiving, because as long as your manuscript looks the way you want it to look on-screen, it usually prints out fine. Ebooks are less forgiving. Some of the most common ebook formatting mistakes include: Using tabs or spaces instead of Word's indent feature; using multiple paragraph returns to designate page breaks (creates blank pages in your ebook); and using multiple body text styles instead of just "normal" text (creates inconsistent looking text).

4. Publish your book in as many ebook formats as possible - It's impossible to predict which ereading device or platform your reader will use to read your book. They might read it online over a web browser, they might download to their home computer to print it, they may read it on their Kindle, or maybe they want to read it on their iPhone or Blackberry. for visit detials:-www.create-own-ebook.com.They might also want to read the same book on multiple devices simultaneously. Therefore, you should publish in multiple ebook formats so the reader can read your book their way. Popular formats include HTML (readable on web browsers), .txt (Plain text, readable on nearly everything), PDF (good for books for which strict formatting is essential to reading enjoyment [picture books, books with charts, graphs, tables of contents and indexes]), epub (an open industry ebook format used by more and more e-reading devices and applications), and .mobi (used by the Kindle).

5. Avoid DRM - DRM, or "digital rights management," refers to schemes that seek to prevent illegal copying or pirating of a digital work, like an ebook or music. Customers hate DRM, because DRM treats them like a criminal and prevents them from enjoying your book in the way they want to enjoy it. Don't use DRM with your ebook. Market research shows that DRM cannot prevent piracy, and it just angers your customers. In fact, research shows that books without DRM outsell books with DRM.

Mark Coker is founder of Smashwords, an ebook self-publishing service. Smashwords provides multiple social media-enabled tools to help authors publish, promote and sell their ebooks on the Internet. Authors simply upload their finished manuscript as a Microsoft Word file, and then Smashwords automatically converts it into multiple DRM-free ebook formats, ready for immediate sale online.
