A person that lives in a two-bedroom apartment would need the right sized home appliances due to space restrictions in the building plans. The living spaces might be large and comfortable to stay in throughout the year, but the space allotted for major appliances such as washers and dryers would be small and cramped in most cases. The right sized appliances for an apartment setting would be those that feature the washer on bottom and the dryer on top. The space available for opening the dryer door would not be a problem in this situation.

Larger sized washers and dryers fashioned for apartment living would only fit certain apartments if the machines were sized to fit in a closet horizontally and vertically. Some apartment dwellers choose to install only a washer in the small space and the apartment dweller would then be tasked with drying the clothes in the apartment complex washing facilities or drying the garments at a commercial laundry facility. Sizing up those options might be a difficult task because some tenants feel that commercial laundries are expensive and unsanitary.

The commercial laundry facilities would not be very sanitary due to the number of people that use the appliances on a regular basis, so apartment dwellers will often reconsider the right sized home appliances to use when planning a move to a smaller sized living space. People that choose to live on boats throughout the year will need to consider not only the size of the home appliances placed onboard but whether the home appliances will work correctly with the wiring differences found in vessels that go to sea on a regular basis.

Large families would consider the washing capacity and drying capacity of home appliances before making any purchase decision. The right sized home appliances would allow homemakers to save money throughout the year by reducing the number of wash loads completed each week. Homeowners will consider the pricing on certain machines and compare features to get the best value. The right sized home appliance could require less water or use alternative cleaning options such as steam. Many families will realize the value of finding the right sized home appliances when electrical bills are reduced each month.

Some homeowners will match interior spaces of the home with the colors offered on modern day home appliances. Some homemakers feel that if the colors coordinate with cabinets, wall textures and the color of the wall paint in the utility room, then the homeowner will feel that they have found the right sized home appliances for the color scheme of their home. Some homeowners want to complete a kitchen makeover and use home appliances to create a new look. Some will select home appliances that are made of stainless steel or chrome. The right sized home appliances are the ones that have fit in well with the home decor.

People that own recreational vehicles require smaller home appliances. The right sized home appliance might be a refrigerator that is three feet tall. The right sized appliances for the kitchen will feature connections for propane fuel and limit the cook to two burners to cook vice the four offered in larger models. Some people prefer to use the stackable washers and dryers in a recreational vehicle or mobile home due to the small spaces allocated for washers and dryers. Some recreation enthusiasts will bypass any home appliance purchase and use campground facilities to wash clothes.
