Are YourCarpets Infested With Mold
Did you know you could have mold in your carpet because of food, drinks, or the moisture from the heat? If you have a musty odor that could mean you have mold under your carpet. Sometimes you may not even notice it until it gets really bad and the smell gets much worse. The mold under your carpet could be black mold, and it is dangerous to your health. Every time you or someone walks in, the smell will hit them in the face. It can be a light smell or a very big odor that can make you sick.
It will get in your lungs and give you breathing problems and make your allergies go crazy. The mold will spread and grow bigger if it is humid outside. If you don't have an air conditioner it will get hot and muggy in your house and mold can grow from it. You can also get mildew in there, too. It can tear your carpet up and stain it. Things always get spilled on your carpet one way or another. It's just how life is. Don't get mad; just get it cleaned up. All you need are some cleaning supplies and a good towel that soaks up the liquid.
In the wintertime you can get mold, too, because you can walk in the house with snow on your shoes, and it will get in the carpet. If you don't want this to happen then you need to have them take off their shoes before they come into the house. It can also happen when you get out of the shower or the bathtub or when you come in from swimming. You need to put a mat or something that soaks up the water for you so there is no problem with mold getting in your house. If you have a pet make sure he or she is potty trained. If not, then you need to get your pet trained so they don't go to the bathroom on your carpet.
That also will make it smell in your house. Also, if mold and mildew gets under your carpet and into the floor it will make it weak, and it will rot. Then you have to get a new floor, and that will cost you a lot of money to do. So keep an eye on what gets on the carpet, and clean it up right away.
