All You Wanted To Ask About Mold Remediation
Fogging is one of the most preferred mold remediation methods that is widely used to clear the molds in office and at homes. Different companies have their own specially formulated fogging solution and it is the chemical composition that makes each solution uniquely potent. The fogging solution is patented and this chemical is sprayed using a fogging machine.
The size of the microns usually falls in the range of 5 to 20. Compared to the traditional mold remediation techniques, fogging is far superior. This makes sure that the chemicals reach all the nook and corner of the room and is not just sprayed superficially. This also infuses into the thickness of the wall reacting on the mold spores. However, the fogging liquid cannot reach for the area at the back of the wall.
To ensure that the mold remediation liquid reaches the far of and hidden mold infested places there should not be any obstruction in the path of the sprayer. The things like wall paper, curtain, insulation, fabrics and furnishing that come in the way of the fogging machine should be cleared prior to remediation process. All the items that come in contact with the potent liquid will be disinfected. The substrate floating in the air gets in touch with the mold spores lingering in the atmosphere.
Mildew and mold are rampantly observed in damp areas that are humid and moist. The water content facilitates the growth of the mold. The heating ducts and air conditioner vents contain water deposits and this favours the growth of molds. Also, the HVAC harbours molds and this need to be replaced after fogging.
Mold remediation by fogging gives you the privilege to fumigate only a particular area without sparing the entire house. Though this is possible, usually fogging is done in isolation as the molds have a tendency to spread to other areas in the house. So, it is advisable to fog the full house without leaving any scope for the molds to grow further. Fogging disinfects the mold spores too and this puts an end to future potential mold attack from the remains.
The toxins released by the molds contaminate the surroundings and is known to cause health disorder and illness. It ranges from mild discomfort to severe respiratory problems and asthma attack. Symptoms of mold allergies include skin irritation, itching, patches, watering eyes, sinus and rashes. Once you sense the presence of the molds, you should call in an inspector to check for the intensity of the attack to take further action. It is better to fog the house before the mold becomes severely problematic.
Evacuate immediately to a safer place. Before mold remediation fogging process begins, the pet animals and birds need to be taken out. Plants will wilt if exposed to chemicals and so these should be removed from the fogging zone. Fogging as such does not have any harmful effects on the living beings. Make sure that you cover all the furniture, fixture, documents, fabrics, electronic equipments and other valuables with a polythene sheet tightly protecting from the chemicals.
Fogging takes about 6 to 8 hours. You are not supposed to enter the mold remediation area for the next 8 hours after fogging and this is to allow the chemicals to settle down. So, you should be away from the treated place for at least a day. When you get back, you are welcomed by the fresh smell of hydrogen peroxide. This is not toxic and would fade after two days. Once you get into the house, all the exposed areas must be wiped clean with a moist cloth to remove the left over chemicals.
