All About Smoke And HEPA Filters
Smoke gets a bad rap. Smoke hardly ever is associated with positive things. Fires cause smoke. Cigarettes cause smoke. The only good thing about smoke is when it is emitting from an incense stick. People try to find ways to get rid of smoke and that smoky smell by spraying air fresheners or opening up the windows. Smokers, in particular, have an even harder time getting rid of that smoky smell in their home.
People who smoke cigarettes, pipes, or cigars are capable of sending out over 4,000 different compounds of chemical. There is a very big known fact that 40 or more of these chemicals cause cancer, which even animals and we humans can get. When we are exposed to secondhand smoke, it can do a lot of harmful damage to the environment and to our overall health as well.
Did you know that using your fireplace or wood stove could emit an allergen that can cause health problems? If you or someone in your family or even one of your friends smokes, you are polluting the area with chemicals and can harm the people around you. Due to health risks associated with smoking and second hand smoke, more and more cities are outlawing smokers to light up in public places.
People die from second hand smoke every year, mainly from lung cancer. It is in the air whether we like it or not, and unless everyone stops smoking, it's not going to go away anytime soon. People are not going to stop smoking, despite the many dangers and even the surgeon general warning sticker placed on the side of each cigarette carton. No one can see the damage that secondhand smoke can bring to your health or anyone else's health until it's too late. It's not only killing us, but it's also killing our earth because some smokers can be irresponsible and throw their cigarette butts on the ground. People who do quit smoking are making a difference in everyone's air, although a small difference.
Thankfully, companies have developed a type of air purifier called HEPA, or High Efficiency Particle Arresting. These HEPA air purifiers clean the air and remove smoke and other odors. It helps to remove pollen, bacteria, dirt, dander, allergens, and viruses from the air. Like any air purifier, it takes the bad air out through the filters and puts the good clean air back in your house. The HEPA is made so quietly most people don't even realize it's on. Most of these filters are usually very easy to clean so maintenance is not a hassle. Clean up your world and start breathing fresh air!
