Are You Throwing Money Into The Fire

We had all heard the expressions about throwing money in the fire or washing money down the drain. It is not hard to figure out what this means. It deals with the fact that so many people have a tendency to waste their hard earned money in ways that are not productive for them. They use their cash or spend their cash in ways that just make it seem to disappear with nothing left to show for it. It is amazing to see how even smart people do this every month when there is a better way to utilize the money they have.

Of course we are talking about credit cards. Each month people charge things on their credit cards and then struggle and do their best to try and pay them off when their statement comes in. The good thing is when you can pay the card completely off each month you do not waste a lot of money in interest and you are tempted to use them because of the many rewards they are offering these days such as gas cards and miles. These are two of the most popular rewards.

The bad thing is that such a large majority of people are not able to pay their credit card debt off each month. This is when catastrophe can happen so quickly if someone is not very careful. We have heard about it time and time again when people over extend themselves by using multiple credit cards. When you have three or four credit cards in your wallet, it is so tempting to use them all. Before you know what has happened you can be thousands of dollars in debt and probably not even be able to remember what all the things were that you purchased or paid for by using them.

Using credit cards and not being able to pay them off each month simply means that you are going to give the companies money, a lot of money, to keep for themselves on money you have already spent. In the end you are paying and paying for a loan that you do not have much of a chance of getting out of unless you pay it all off at once. The third bad thing is that when you run up thousands of dollars in credit card debt, it is almost impossible to pay it all at once. The interest you pay these credit card companies is definitely what it means to throw money in the fire.
