Selecting the right wedding videographer is very important because wedding videos hold special moments from your wedding day. Just like you need to find the perfect wedding dress, it should be without question that you need a quality wedding videographer.

Now I don’t mean a wedding videographer that asks Aunt Gretchen to say a few words about her little niece Sharon who is all grown up. And I don’t mean a wedding videographer that likes to force everyone to smile in the middle of dinner time because he is always in your face with that video camera. Run from those wedding videographers.

The Right Wedding Videographer
Albert Ling of Encore Weddings, was the right videographer for me. He was unobtrusive (we hardly knew he was around), he didn’t use crazy special effects in his previous wedding videos and he had a demeanor that made it easy to feel comfortable around him. Don’t worry, the right wedding videographer for you is out there. And once you find him, hold on tight because he is an important part of your wedding budget and he (along with the wedding photographer) has your once in your lifetime moments in his hands. Make sure your wedding videographer is experienced. You wouldn’t believe how easy it is for someone to just call themselves a videographer. Do you really want to be one of their early wedding video mistakes? Albert had hundreds of video that my husband went through with him during the consultation but even though he had done so many wedding videos, our wedding video was still different from all the others.

I just popped in my wedding DVD (that’s right, I didn’t get my wedding video on VHS) in order to give you some important tips on what to look for in your wedding videographer’s portfolio. Yes, you need to see the wedding videographer’s portfolio.

The Wedding Videographer’s Portfolio
You need to make sure he hasn’t done 1,000 wedding videos that are exactly the opposite approach you want. It also matters if he clearly understands what you want from him. Can he produce that? And has he done that before? You don’t have to see all his videos but you don’t want to see a video montage of what he thinks are his best clips. You want to see what he has done from start to finish. See if the videos were steady if he uses a hand held video camera instead of a tripod. Watch for editing – do they make sense? Are you going from the wedding ceremony to the reception or from the reception decorations to the ceremony? Has he captured all of the members of the wedding party? Was he too slow and didn’t get the “here comes the bride” entrance? Where the close ups “too close up”? Are you having an outdoor wedding? What if it is windy? Does he have unobtrusive mikes for the wedding party? Or will you end up with the sound of wind on the wedding video and muted voices? You also want to be able to speak with happy clients from the wedding videos you liked the most.

One Videographer or Two? One Video Camera or Two?
For my wedding, we had one videographer with one handheld camera. Having a second camera can help obtain extra points of view which may be needed during editing and sometimes if the first camera man is unable to get a shot, the second camera will hopefully be able to pick it up. Our wedding videographer was experienced so we didn’t feel like we needed a second camera or videographer.

Wedding Video on DVD or VHS?
After watching the wedding video once, most people don’t sit through it in full many times after. They usually fast forward to parts that they like which over time wears out your wedding video. If you choose to have your wedding video on DVD, you can easily jump to the parts you want to highlight instead of having to sit through a few hours or constantly fast forward and rewind your videotape.

And speaking of wedding videos that last a few hours - please spare your friends and family. You don’t need every single moment from your wedding day on the wedding video. My wedding video is 30 minutes long. It was set up like a story book with scenes from throughout the day highlighting the wedding ceremony, my father’s speech and the cutting of the cake. The other scenes were played with one of four songs we chose.

Special Additions to Your Wedding Video
The wedding videographer will probably offer you a few additions to your package. I personally felt they were unnecessary but you may feel differently. You may include a prelude of some wedding planning, commentary about the couple from their family and friends, photo montages and video from before the couple met and special effects (slow motion and fading in and out).

Wedding Videographer Cost
You can expect to pay anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000 for your wedding video. The wedding videographer will be one of your biggest wedding budget expenses.

And now some advice that was given to me that I want to share with you.

My matron of honor gave me some advice when I was planning my wedding … even if you are on the fence about a wedding video – just get it! You may never watch it or your grandmother may be the only one that watches it but one day if you want to watch it and you don’t have a wedding video, you will feel incredibly sad about not having one to watch.

One last thing! Make sure you include your wedding videographer (and camera man) on the list for a meal at the reception or else you risk having them take an hour break so they can get some lunch/dinner. (Remember they are working straight close to 8 hours if not more! Feed them! No exceptions.)

The widespread availability of high-speed Internet access has resulted in ever-greater numbers of consumers making online purchases. This means that business owners of all stripes - from individuals working from home to big box mass merchandisers - can reach more buyers and can generate exponentially greater revenue than ever before.
There are many theories about and tips for marketing and advertising your online store, and marketing and advertising is certainly a consideration. fore visit to:-www.thedesignbuild.com But in focusing so much attention on marketing, many business owners neglect a fundamental aspect of successful e-commerce: web page design.
If you don't have a professional webpage design, it doesn't matter how much traffic you generate to your site because those visitors won't convert to customers. It's crucial to have a website that is compelling and that makes visitors want to stay long enough to buy. Here, then, are six tips to help your web design transform visitors into customers:
1. Keep it Clean. A professional web page designer will tell you that to keep your virtual storefront clean and free of clutter. It should be immediately clear to the visitor the types of items you sell without overwhelming them with dozens of hyperlinks, fonts, and flashing buttons and words. You can certainly incorporate a flash introduction in your web design, but if you do, give the visitor control. He or she should be able to bypass or pause the flash so that the annoyance factor is kept to a minimum.
2. Intuitive Navigation. Your website designer should think like your customer and design a navigation system that easily takes your customer from your home page to the product or products of interest. The fewer number of clicks it takes to get from point A to point B, the more likely it is that your visitor will make a purchase.
3. Search Functionality. Customers need to be able to find what they need quickly and easily. Allowing customers to search by keyword or product number is a great start. Going one step further and allowing "fuzzy" searches that will also return matches for common misspellings is even better.
4. Seamless Shopping Cart. Many e-commerce sites lose customers at the critical juncture between selecting items and committing to buy them. An intuitive and easy-to-use shopping cart is essential to the online shopping experience. more visit to:-www.my-early-days-on-the-net.comAgain, your web page designer should think like your customer and utilize a shopping cart that makes checkout a breeze.
5. SSL Certificate. If you're an online merchant, there's simply no getting around the need for an SSL certificate. With the problems associated with identity theft, your customers need to have confidence that your website is secure.
6. Leave it to the Professionals. When it comes to web page design, don't succumb to the temptation to do it yourself. Even if you have a web design program, you should hire a business web page designer to create your web site. Professionals have a variety of tools that will help your business succeed online, and will act as your partner in developing e-commerce solutions that will encourage visitors to stick around and purchase your products.

Old Finds On Fire In The News

In the news today our archaeologists and scientists have been on fire with the findings of so many different kinds of old finds. I am referring to things that had been underground for millions of years. In a Greek dig, they unearthed a very old Neolithic household and some of its gear. In another find, they found a 190 million year old small juvenile dinosaur that was the size of a pigeon, weighing no more than two sticks of butter. Despite its size, this was no little angel. It was called a hodgepodge but had very big teeth that served as fang-like canines for tearing into small mammals, reptiles, and even some insects to shreds. It also had flat molars for eating plants.

In another part of the world, they found a rock formation that they found to have many different footprints of several different dinosaurs, which they are calling a graveyard with some calling it a dance floor. In China, some scientists and hikers found what they believed to be the footprints of the abominable snowman or Yeti, as they call it.

With all of these great finds, our scientists and archaeologists will be keeping busy for many years to come to try to completely uncover these finds intact. Some of these sites may cover a lot of land and take a lot of years to complete. They will have to bring in a lot of people to help with this uncovering and also bring in a lot of very big machinery to help with the removal of the dirt that is pushed aside.

If this isn't enough, there is always the news on space travel and all the trips and equipment that is being sent into our space to find out if there are places that we could possibly live on in the future. We already have some people living in space on space stations. They will stay up there for some time, are brought back home, and we will send someone to take their place.

When these people are brought home, they are put into air chambers to bring their bodies back to breathing air and getting them used to walking on their muscles, as they haven't had to use these muscles for some time. They also need to get them accustomed to eating regular food that is not in liquid form. Their stomachs aren't used to solid food, and this might have some effect on their bodies, which could make their stay in these chambers be a while.

One Person's Opinion On Fire Damage

Fire damage is one of the most unpleasant things you could experience and the very thought of it flashes a lot of uncomfortable pictures. The condition is even worse for those who had a firsthand experience in dealing with fire damage and in this case the fire accident keeps haunting you and many nights you would wake up jolted by the nightmare. It is common for the fire victims to wake up in the middle of the night troubled by the sequence of incidents as if it is happening for real.

As a matter of fact, fire damage has far more repercussions on the affected individuals than it seems to be. Only those who had fallen prey to the fire can understand the real impact of fire damage. Mostly, fire accidents occur because of sheer negligence and this can happen to anyone and all you can do is to take the necessary precautions. Fire not only eats away the skin and leaves a mark; the worst part is the indelible mark that it leaves on the psyche of the fire victims. They can never really come of out of it and the horrible scenes of the accidents hang around the casualty's life.

Those of you who have suffered a fire attack in the recent past; we would strongly recommend you to seek the guidance of a therapist. In case you cannot finalize on a genuine therapist, request to your doctor and he would suggest the best therapist in the town based on his experience. Do not worry about the cost involved as it can be sorted out either through the insurance claim or by other means. But, the key is to seek the assistance from a therapist without wasting any time.

You can share your feelings openly with a therapist. Remember that therapist is no stranger and he is there to help you out in a professional manner. Therapist has come across several fire victims and he knows what it is and how to deal with such causalities. So, there is nothing to feel uncomfortable about the incident and voice your thoughts, be it anger or guilt just express it. A therapist is trained to deal such sensitive patients and you can feel the difference as he directs you with a positive approach.

Most of thgose who had fire damage issues repent for their carelessness and grieve that it could have been averted. But sadly, life does not give a second chance always and it is up to you to exercise caution in every step and ward off such unfortunate accidents. Fire accidents are a universal disaster and before it occurs to you, follow the simple precautions before it is too late. Even a burning candle left by the bedside carelessly is more than enough to spark a fire to the loose hanging curtain and consume the bedroom.

We do understand that the fear and guilt can be dispelled in short time and it is the reconstruction of the events and the horrid memories that stays behind. We are fortunate to not to have undergo a fire accident in our life or experience the worst cases of fire damage. A therapist once told me that they had many a chance to speak with the victims and know how hard it is to overcome the feeling of fear and lead a normal life. The impact and traumatic experience can be lightened to a large extent if you consult a therapist soon after the fire damage.

Caring For The Planet And Environment

Many vedic books teach individuals how to properly care for their environment and planet, which has been given as a gift. With proper care their environment and planet will continue to provide for them and for future generations with the food they eat to the water they drink.

The environment and planet have been created to provide all the necessities that individuals will need during their life time. Individuals need to learn how not to exploit the resources that are provided to them or these resources will continue to decrease. By polluting the environment and planet, individuals are now discovering that the imbalance they have caused are resulting in droughts and an increase amount of forest fires. Droughts and forest fires are causing shortages in several types of natural resources that humanity depends on, which only causes prices of these natural resources to continue to climb.

There are a large variety of vedic books that will ultimately teach individuals ways to take care of these natural resources. When the planet and environment are not cared for properly it can affect individuals in a variety of ways, which can result in individuals sinking slowly into poverty. There are individuals all over the world that are starving every single day and unfortunately many of these individuals will die simply because they are hungry. How much food do you leave on your plate at every meal? How much food do you or your family waste each day?

With each natural resource becoming limited due to the impact individuals are having on the environment, the competition for these resources are continuing to increase. Instead of respecting our planet and environment, individuals are unwilling to share the natural resources. These natural resources need to properly maintained, while the pollution is kept to highest minimum, but that is not always the case. The natural resources are being stripped completely out of the earth faster than they are able to replenish themselves. As with any type of resource, whether it is natural or man made, as the demand increases the scarcity of these resources continues to decrease.

By not caring for our environment properly we can cause a variety of creatures to become extinct even though they have been on this planet for literally thousands of years. As a result of the damages we have already caused, there are already several different types of species that are listed on the endangered species list. Do we really want to be the cause of even more creatures being added to this list that seems to be growing each year? What have these creatures done for us to misuse their environment as well as our own environment the way that we do?

Often times the earth will cleanse itself from the damages that we cause through hurricanes, storms, and even droughts. When this occurs it often causes humanity to realize the damages that they have caused the earth to suffer through time. Often times this results in several individuals becoming more involved in attempting to repair the damages that has been caused over time as they set out to live a better life with a brand new set of goals. Individuals should realize that the world we live in is actually a gift and we should all stop taking it for granted so that the planet can continue to produce its natural resources that we rely on to survive.

The Mystery of Edward Leedskalnin

The Coral Castle in Homestead Florida is one of the most mysterious structures of modern times. Constructed by one man, Edward Leedskalnin, this 1100 structure made of huge coral blocks were single handedly carved, moved, positioned by this 100 pound Latvian immigrant less than a hundred years ago. Although the Coral Castle itself is a great mystery, seemingly even more mysterious is the man who created it.

Ed Leedskalnin was born in Latvia in 1887 and he died in Miami, Florida in 1951. He was 64 years old. The story goes that Ed was 26 years old when he was engaged to be married to his sweetheart Agnes scuffs. Agnes was 10 years younger than Ed and he purportedly always referred to her as his Sweet Sixteen. On the day before the wedding, Agnes told Ed that she did not want to marry him for one of a variety of reasons. It could have been that he was too old for her. The other possibility for her rejection of him was that he did not have any money. It is said that Ed also thought that his fourth grade education could have played a role in why she did not want to be with him the rest of her life. But there may have been another reason altogether more sinister than these. Edward thought that Agnes may have actually loved someone else.

Yet despite all of the possible reasons that she did not want him, and considering the severity of the rejection itself, Ed still referred to her as his Sweet Sixteen. This nickname is usually attributed to the 10-year difference between them and also the age that she was when she rejected him. There may however be another reason behind this cryptic nickname.

Devastated by his rejection, Ed decided to leave Latvia in search of something better. He wondered for several years and eventually made his way to Canada and later down into California and finally to Texas. He is supposed to have worked at a variety of places including lumber camps and was involved in at least one cattle drive which led him to the state of Texas.

Although these jobs would seemingly reflex a very healthy and stout type of person, somehow he developed a case of tuberculosis. At some point, he was told that the climate in southern Florida would be good for his condition. Despite what we know today regarding humid air and it's potentially devastating effects for tuberculosis victims, Ed found his way to southern Florida and settled at a place called Florida City.

The acre of land that Ed bought for twelve dollars was located about 10 miles south of the current location of the Coral Castle in Homestead Florida. It is at this point that many stories arise regarding how Ed began moving and carving the enormous blocks of coral. It is said that he created his first coral piece in the shape of a circle couch with three pillows for his head all made of coral. What was more amazing was that Ed could move this several ton piece of coral with his foot while laying on it so that he could keep himself oriented with the sun as he recovered from his tuberculosis.

Most of his early coral creations were said to have been created and moved with only primitive tools. Only later at the Homestead site do we see any indication that large scale tools were used in the famous pictures which purportedly showed Ed working, despite the claims that no one has ever seen him at work.

The mystery that is most fascinating about all of this is where did Edward Leedskalnin learned to move, carve, and the balance these massive coral pieces without the aid of either modern equipment or the help of another human being? Due to the fact that this 1100 structure does exist, we know that Ed truly did do something that modern equipment and technology would find almost impossible to replicate, if replication is possible at all, and yet he had none of this at his disposal over 70 years ago.

In my opinion, Edward Leedskalnin tapped into an energy that few people have tapped into over the course of history. Ed said that he knew the secrets of the pyramid builders which indicates that Ed may have known a secret technology which may have been levitation of stones through the negation of gravity.

Another possibility that I stumbled upon is that Ed may have tapped into zero point energy and evidence of this can be seen in the symbology created at the original site of the Coral Castle. By tapping into this energy, it allowed him to do what we would call the miraculous.

The person that actually discovers how Ed was able to maneuver these enormous blocks of coral will not only, in my opinion, finally understand the true nature of gravity, but by default will upset the balance of our current world structure regarding energy by allowing all of us to tap into what many call free energy and finally end our dependency upon our current energy supplies.

Who was Ed Leedskalnin? Why did he really come to south Florida? Where did he learn how to carve, move, and balance megalithic coral blocks? We may never know his secret, but he did leave many clues behind, clues that lead us toward not only the secret of the Coral Castle, but also the secret of Edward Leedskalnin.

Who Was the Real Marcus Aurelius?

Archaeological excavations in southern Turkey recently brought to the surface a magnificent marble statue depicting Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Renowned as a popular leader of the empire during the second century, the discovery has prompted many to question: who exactly was Marcus Aurelius?

Hollywood most famously fictionalised the emperor in 2000 for Ridley Scott's Oscar-winning epic Gladiator, yet the true life of Marcus Aurelius elicits far more interest than then character portrayed by the late Richard Harris.

Born into a privileged and wealthy family that descended from the rank of consular, Aurelius was raised among the highest echelons of Roman society. His father's aunt, Vibia Sabina, had wed Emperor Hadrian, while his own aunt, Faustina the Elder was the spouse of Hadrian's successor, Antoninus Pius. As was befitting of the rich family pedigree, Aurelius' future was almost inevitably assured of greatness.

And so it would pass. Upon the wishes of Hadrian himself, a precondition for Antoninus Pius' rule was to adopt Aurelius along with his own grandson L. Aelius Verus, with the two being placed next in line for the position of emperor. Ordained as a successor at the age of 17, it would be another 23 years until Marcus Aurelius would become the head of the Roman Empire, although initially in a joint partnership with Verus.

This joint emperorship was marked by the continued reformation of laws, many of which were of benefit to the lower classes of Rome. Even with the death of Verus during a military campaign in 169, Aurelius would continue his policy of introducing measures favourable to the masses. Accordingly, his reputation in the eyes of his subjects was predominantly positive, an opinion that would only be enhanced when compared with the despotic rule of more hedonistic and irrational emperors.

Such is the respect for Marcus Aurelius, in fact, that when the 16th-century political philosopher Machiavelli coined the term 'Five Good Emperors', Aurelius was considered to be the last of eponymous subjects.

The period of his reign, however, was not without its troubles as international relations were embroiled in almost continuous warfare. In the wake of defeating Parthia in a drawn-out war, attacks from Germanic tribes would lead Aurelius to the front line himself where he would lead his troops for the majority of his remaining years.

It would be in modern-day Vienna that Aurelius died on March 17, 180, ending a 19 year reign over the empire. In his presence was his son and successor Commodus, whose own rule would be in a fashion far removed from the dignified manner of his father.

History has gone on to recognise Marcus Aurelius as both a emperor of repute as well as one of the great Stoic philosophers of the age. In fact, Aurelius' seminal work, Meditations, remains held in high esteem with its views on Stoicism considered to convey a high level of personal reflection and heartfelt intensity.

Unlike countless others before and after him, Aurelius dismissed the notion of immortality and was of the view that there was no afterlife. Instead he held the belief that everything, both physical and spiritual, would eventually fade into oblivion. True as this may be, for nearly two millennia Aurelius' memory has remained strong, while the discovery of the giant statue will only lead a new generation of historians to preserve the legacy of the last 'Good Emperor' for many years to come.

The Truth About American Colonists

The English colonists in North America were neither adventurers nor the rulers of great and ancient peoples. Unlike various colonizers down the ages, they had no need to impress the native people, nor did they have a strong local tradition to fit into. They were simple, hard-working people, often craftsmen, seeking a better life across the sea. There was little stone suitable for building, and there was no lime, which ruled out brick building, but there was abundant timber. As a result, the architecture of North America is largely in wood.

By the time of the War of Independence (1775-83), a strong tradition of timber-frame building had grown up, whether for public buildings, churches or houses. Wood-built towns, simple and well-planned, with the buildings often faced in shingles, can still be seen on the Eastern Seaboard of the early states. A Classical look became fashionable, and wooden villas and plantation mansions in the Palladian style multiplied. It was an undogmatic Classicism, since the columns of porticoes could be much slimmer than their stone prototypes. Thomas Jefferson used Ionic capitals because his slave carpenters were not skilled enough to carve Corinthian ones.

Jefferson, however, was a man of the Enlightenment, and he and other internationally aware architects like Benjamin Latrobe and William Strickland produced a rational and romantic Classicism - planned cities and masonry architecture. With these men, the United States had entered the international arena, and the seeds were sown for its leading role in architecture half a century later.

But timber building continued, and a vital development in this context was that of the balloon frame, devised by G. W. Snow, a civil engineer, in the village of Chicago in 1832. Thanks to mass-produced nails and machine-sawn sticks, the old heavy sections of wood and complex joints were things of the past. Balloon framing is credited with enabling the rapid expansion of settlements like Chicago and San Francisco in the middle of the century.

The North American "heritage" of forests, frontier-folk and shingle-clad cottages was readily kept alive in more sophisticated times. In the 1840s, Andrew Jackson Downing, architect, landscape designer and influential writer, advocated the exploitation of wood, and in the later decades of the century a "shingle style" was led by architects like H. H. Richardson and Mckim, Mead & White. They produced large mansions, informally and picturesquely planned, linked to the English free style (see pages 228-9).

In the city, however, Richardson (who had studied with Henri Labrouste in Paris in the 1870s) built in stone, as did Louis Sullivan after him, on a scale where issues of style were dwarfed by sheer monumental form. And this form was to have a metal frame, hydraulic lifts, central heating, air-conditioning and telephone intercom, as in Adler & Sullivan's vast Auditorium (1886). Balloon-framed Chicago had been wiped out by fire in 1871; what replaced it was the skyscraper, the second urban artefact to be invented in Chicago.

Namibia Wildlife Resorts, the governmental organisation which runs the National Parks camping and accommodation facilities, has recently introduced the NWR Enviro-Kidz initiative. This aims to provide opportunities, primarily to school groups from previously disadvantaged backgrounds, to experience the protected areas of Namibia. It is also hoped that they will learn about the natural fauna and flora, environmental and conservation issues and the importance of safeguarding the environment.

This scheme is something completely new within Namibia Wildlife Resorts and it is hoped that many children will benefit from the exciting initiative. The children will be selected according to their performance as well as their home background, the scheme intends to focus on those who will most benefit from this exposure, namely orphans and vulnerable children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit these areas.

The first group of ten children were from the Mupini Cluster in the Kavango Region, as well as one from the Oshikoto Region, and they were selected locally based on performance. They travelled to the Etosha National Park during school holidays, accompanied by experienced guides and staff of NWR. Here they had the opportunity to experience the unforgettable wildlife and scenery, and learn more the general environment. For all the kids this was their first visit to one of Namibia's protected areas! Etosha National Park was the first Namibian conservation area formed in 1907 by the German Government. Etosha is made up of saline desert, savannah and woodland areas. In general, Etosha offers excellent game viewing opportunities by either day while simply driving or by night from floodlit waterholes.

The Park is dominated by the vast Etosha salt pan which is a shallow depression of 5,000km sq. In the dry season the pan is made up of white, cracked mud that shimmers with mirages. In the rainy season the pan fills up with water that's draining southwards from Angola via a delta like system of shallow rivers and oshanas.

The park has 30 springs and waterholes, joined by a network of well maintained gravel roads to enable visitors the best chances of seeing the many inhabitants of Namibia's premier wildlife reserve. Species present in the Park include lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, zebra including the rare and endangered black rhino and the black faced impala in addition to many antelope and 340 bird species.

Following Etosha, they moved southwards to the Waterberg Plateau Park where they were introduced to the fauna and flora, and in particular to rare and endangered species, whilst on a game drive on the plateau. For some of the learners, this was the first time they had seen a mountain - let alone the fascinating cliff face of the Waterberg Plateau.

In Windhoek they enjoyed a tour of Windhoek's historic and other sights of interest. For the majority this was their first visit to the capital. They then travelled south to Sesriem and the towering dunes of Sossusvlei, before returning home.

Namibia Wildlife Resorts is committed to the national objectives of sustainable development, poverty alleviation and job creation. "As a major player in the fastest-growing sector in the country, we recognise our role in achieving these objectives. Furthermore, the Namibian tourism sector is so closely linked to natural assets such as the wide-open landscapes and rich abundance of wildlife, that it is imperative for every effort to be made to protect these assets. This can be achieved only if present and future generations fully understand the concepts of sustainable development and if we all develop a culture of responsible environmental use and protection. The Enviro-Kidz programme is NWR's way of investing in the future. At least two Enviro-Kidz educational excursions will be undertaken per year."

Going to a Broadway show, is amongst the most exciting things that you can do in New York. What actually is Broadway though? Well, it's amongst one of the most exciting theater and musical districts in the whole world! You will find the Netherlander Theater on W41th Street, and Broadway Theatre on W. 53rd St. As well as four other theaters which are also located in the Broadway district.

Respectively, these are Broadway at 53rd St, The Marquis at 46th St. The Winter Garden at 50th St and The Palace at 47th St, with numerous other theatre houses being located amongst a stretch of those twelve blocks. And many of these date back to the late 19th century, so the history of Broadway musicals and Broadway theater in the area is truly astonishing! And over the years, the area has blossomed, as theatre impresarios have moved into the area, and increasingly created a reputation for live broadway show promotions that really deliver the goods in terms of entertainment.

So, if you are going to New York, then one of the things you must do is to visit a Broadway show! And the great news is that you will have a lot of choice. There are 39 theaters on Broadway that have over 500 seats, and so you will never be caught short with nowhere to go, as on any given night, there are over 20,000 seats up for grabs! With this level of competition, it means that there are some great bargains to be had. And if you are not that choosy about which broadway show you wish to see, then you'll be able to get Broadway Theater, at even better prices.

In most respects, it's all about supply and demand. The most popular shows WILL be sold out months in advance, and the only realistic advice to get those seats at bargain prices is either to know someone on the cast, have a connection who can get you tickets, or just be extremely lucky on an online auction. Some times, the shows do have returned tickets, but these are in such short supply, and in such high demand, that if you want them you will have to queue outside the theatre's often for many hours and hope you get lucky. But this is a tactic that is not necessarily conducive to an entertaining evening! (When you are standing outside in the cold for hours!)

One way that you can secure these tickets, is if you get a package deal which includes hotels, flights etc You can often sees these advertised for the more popular shows, like Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King etc where enterprising entrepreneurs, have bought up seats in advance, so that they can offer them as package deals for people who wish to visit the city. You will commonly see these advertised in newspapers, and so you can visit the top-quality shows if you wish, and tickets will always be available, but you may have to pay more for them and get them under such special package deals as this.
