The Characteristics of Insects

To the majority of human beings, insects are a source of disgust, fear, and apprehension. But insects are animals that play an important role in our world and there are literally millions of spieces of insect. They are a subset of arthropods, a category of animal that has a body split up into distinct segments, as well as an exoskeleton.

There are lots of animal that you might mistake for insects if you don't know the difference, but insects can be easily told apart by a few basic characteristics. One of the traits of insects is that they have three separate segments to their body. Those three segments are the head, the thorax, and the abdomen. The head is pretty much what you what expect, while the thorax is like a torso that connects to the head. And the abdomen connects to the thorax, and looks like the backside of the creature.

Another thing that sets insects apart from different creatures is their six jointed legs. The six legs are connected to the thorax in pairs. If you stumble upon a tiny insect-like creature that has legs attached to its abdomen, then it is something other than an insect. Another typical trait of insects is that they have antennae protruding from their head. I should point out that while most insects do indeed have antennae, there are a few species that don't. One more charcteristic is the presence of wings. There are a few spieces of insects that can not fly, but they will have wings at some time during their life cycle. One final characteristic is the insect's hard exoskeleton.

Using the above characteristics as a guage, it should be fairly simple to identify insects. The problem is that during certain times in an insect's life cycle it may not display all adult insect characteristics. Caterpillars, for instance, do no display wings or antennae, but when they grow into butterflies they will. So it is important to look at both an adult and a developing specimen.

Let's take a look at a couple of creatures that are commonly confused with insects. It is fairly common knowledge among adults that spiders are not insects but arachnids, as we can confirm by counting their number of legs. Spiders have eight legs, so right away we know that they can't be insects. Slugs and snails are also not insects, as we can see if we can't their legs: they don't have any! One more example is the centipede. Centipedes are not insects but rather chilopa. They don't possess a set number of limbs, instead having a single pair of legs per body segment. And centipedes can have many body segments.

There are many San Diego MBA degree holders, but there are not so many advanced degree holders that can say they are doing something they are truly passionate about. Those who have completed a San Diego Master of Ministry degree, on the other hand, can truly say that are in a field that stirs passion in their heart. The Master of Ministry is a professional degree just like the Master of Business Administration, but instead of training students to achieve career goals in the business world it is designed for the active minister or church leader who desires additional academic development. It is a program worth considering for anyone who has chosen the church as the center of their professional career.

The leading San Diego Master of Ministry degree program consists of eight basic courses combined with various elective courses that are intended to help the student become as well-rounded as possible. The Master of Ministry elective courses and other Master’s level electives chosen from a Theology and Christian Ministry program, when combined with the eight basic courses, add up to 36 semester units. An active minister or church leader should be able to complete the program in two years as a part time student, and even faster for those who are able to attend full time.

For those who want to earn a San Diego MBA degree but still want to have the perspective of the theological and Christian community in their academic experience, there are also Master of Business Administration degree programs available at religious affiliated universities. One leading San Diego higher learning institution offers a Master of Business Administration program that is designed to enhance the student’s effectiveness through quality graduate business education and professional development options from a vital Christian perspective. In this way, the graduate can still build a career they are truly passionate about even if they are a part of the world’s business community rather than in a ministering position.

When an individual decides to earn a higher degree and further their career, there will always be many choices and many different avenues they can take to reach their goals. With a degree such as a Master of Ministry, however, a San Diego graduate can enhance their local community at the same time that they advance their career in a field they have great passion for.

There are many choices when one decides to earn a Nursing Master of Science degree. There are different areas of specialization that one can go into, for starters, and options such as post MSN certificates to further one’s education and increase career opportunities. There are also different types of schools including state colleges, private institutions and universities with religious affiliations. Many people choose to attend schools with religious affiliations where they are also required to learn about theology & ministry, even if they are not particularly religious themselves, simply because of the well-roundedness and high quality of the education.

The Nursing Master of Science is an advanced degree that comes after one has already earned a bachelor’s degree and completed a credentialing program to become a registered nurse. For those who have the R.N. without a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, it is also necessary to take three courses in the writing/research inquiry process and RN to MSN transition process. The curriculum combines instruction, research, and public service opportunities for nursing professionals. All Nursing Master of Science students in a religious institution will typically take courses such as Theoretical Foundations and Nursing Research, Teaching Faithfully: Communicating with Adult Learners in a Diverse Society, Healthcare Issues, and Ethics and Politics from a Christian Perspective in addition to their core classes and thesis.

In order to complete post MSN certificates, it is also necessary to complete courses including Advanced Assessment and Health Promotion Across the Lifespan, Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Pharmacology, Development of Educational Programs in Nursing, Nursing Education Role Practicum, Advanced Educational Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Gerontological Nursing and/or Family Health Nursing. Schools that require courses in theology & ministry may tend to instill more of an ethical and religion-based viewpoint in their coursework, but they must always adhere to strict standards to remain accredited just like any other university and will always use the latest scientific information and technology.

There are also post MSN certificates for nurse educators, which may also include courses in faith and philosophy in the course of training. All nurses must also do a required amount of clinical work and research in addition to a thesis in order to earn any of these advanced graduate degrees. There are many choices and many directions a nurse can go down; as long as he or she does so faithfully it is a boon for society.

Master of Arts in Teaching Becoming a Standard

Over the past couple of years it seems that many arts programs at educational institutions have been coming extinct. Whether it is because the demand is not as nearly as high as it once was or the fact that the study lies somewhat in an gray area, we are not sure. One thing that we are sure of is that a Master of Arts in teaching is becoming a very popular area of study. One of the major attributions to this is the fact is that you don’t necessarily have to have been an art major to be accepted into a Master of Arts in Teaching program. For many people that go into a masters program to ultimately teach art in the school systems or teach it in some other respect have different reasoning that most art majors.

The fact of the matter is that more and more people that are seeking a Master of Arts in Teaching are coming from educational backgrounds. For before it seems that artists who couldn’t make it on their own, who couldn’t sell their works, or open up their own gallery would settle on teaching art. However the tides have turned and teachers are going back to school to get their Master of Arts in Teaching so that they can specialize in teaching arts to children and adults alike. The fact of the matter is that art is being applied to much more than a hobby these days, it is being use as a therapeutic response. Doctors of physiology are using it as a therapy treatment, Doctors of Medicine are using it in rehabilitation centers across the country, and individuals are using it as a way to cope with all of their devastating that is going on in their daily life.

Gaining your masters of arts in teaching is certainly not for the lighthearted. It takes a lot of devotion and commitment to make it through a program like this, however once you do it is extremely rewarding. There is nothing better than knowing that what you are doing in your daily professional life is impacting the lives of others who are suffering to help them see live and circumstances in a more positive way.

Now a days a Master of Arts in Teaching is truly becoming a standard for anyone who is seeking to provide their creative abilities and outlet to help others. There is so much goodness that comes through art in this world that is not truly appreciated. Gaining your masters of Arts in teaching will not only allow you to teach art in the elementary, high school, and college levels but it will also allow you to use it as a tool to help those in other needs such as therapy and rehabilitation. Gaining your Master of Arts in Teaching is now easier than ever as programs have been extended and offered all over the country as institutions of higher learning have adopted and realize that these practices are needed in the lives of people on a daily basis.

Let’s face it, currently the economy is not being a very adaptive place for students who have just graduated from college. College graduates across the globe are searching and searching yet not finding the end result that they are looking for. School’s budgets are being cut as more and more students that have graduated with teaching credentials are finding themselves with no place to find work. It’s a sad situation but the truth of the matter is that schools are now finding that they can employ these graduates with a Teaching Fellowship instead of a full time position. When a school decides to take offer a teaching fellowship they are truly getting the best of both worlds. Not only are they cutting back on the number of teachers that they have to keep on staff but they are also getting quality teachers without having to pay out health insurance and other benefits that full time teachers get.

A teaching fellowship is another name for a paid internship that is given to those with promise in the educational field. It can differ from school to school and from district to district. A teaching fellowship is usually paid and actually gives the recipient a lot of responsibility in the classroom. Many times if a full time teacher goes on some sort of leave, a teaching fellowship is given to take over the classroom instead if having to hire and expensive substitute. In this case the person who was given the Teaching Fellowship would assume all of the responsibilities of the teacher who had been teaching the class in the first place. Not only is this person given all of the responsibility of a full time teacher, but they are also given many other responsibilities to ensure that they are a good fit for that class and that school.

A teaching fellowship is also a great way for someone who is currently in school or getting their masters to decipher if teaching something that they truly want to do in life. For many times teaching requires more than many other jobs as you have to be personally invested with those to whom you are teaching and the surrounding community. The passion that is involved in teaching is tremendous, and many times people decide that through a fellowship that the educational field is truly not for them.

There are so many great way to go through your career in the educational industry and taking on a fellowship is a great way to truly see if this is what you want to do for the rest of your life. The other side of the story is that for many more experienced teachers who are finding themselves out of work are finding that their former jobs are being replaced by teaching fellowships. This can be a disheartening thought and realization, as many school districts simply cannot afford to keep them on full time even if their salary comes from the government.

Now that many people are going back to school, it seems that a masters in teaching seems to be one of the most popular degrees pursued. The fact of the matter is that more and more school districts are requiring that their teachers hold a Masters in Teaching to be able to stay at their school long term. There is a type of procedure, a type of leeway if you will, for those teachers who have their bachelors and have passed all of their certification requirements to be able to gain and maintain a job in a certain school district. For example, there are programs in Indiana that allow new teachers, new hires, up to five years to gain their Masters in Teaching. Simple teachers are just required to be enrolled in a Masters program while teaching in a specific school district.

What this basically means is that a teacher can teach in a school district just as long as they are enrolled in classes to achieve their Masters in Teaching. One can take only one class per semester and still be applicable in the program and still be applicable to be able to teach in the school district. This type of program ensures that their teachers are getting the most advanced education to ensure that the students, the children are fundamentally receiving the same type of education just at and earlier age. These types of programs are very progressive and can be looked at as giving the educational industry something to strive for. If all of our teachers in all of our school districts possessed the skill and knowledge necessary to earn a Masters in Teaching think of the progress that we would be making.

Not only would our teachers be more knowledgeable in their fields but our school systems would also have the knowledge necessary to go into specific fields so that children could start learning about specific fields of their interest at an early age. Not only would this allow our youth to explore more applicable professions to their associated interests but they would also be able to test out the waters in different industries decades before they would be joining them.

In essence this would put our youth at the forefront of our industries and enable them to be able to develop skills at such a young age so that when they do in fact become of age they would be able to dictate the way our industry would turn. Requiring teachers to be enrolled in a Masters in teaching is not only a great way to increase the knowledge and specialties of our teachers but it will also change the way our youth are going to learn. Gaining your Masters in Teaching does not have to take forever, as there are programs online and on campus’ nation wide that are designed to have you go through your training in the least amount of time as possible.
