Making Creative Business Cards
So you're a business owner and you're finally realizing how important a good business card is in terms of helping out to promote your business. This little paper tool will become indispensible for your marketing efforts as you grow and network and you won't want to leave home without it.
The problem is when it comes to most business cards is one thing - they are too plain, simple, average, and boring. Sorry to be so blunt but it's true. You don't often receive a card where the wow effect hits you and you are impressed.
Too many people go for a quick fix when they get their card designed and it shows in the final product. Basically there is no impact and your card and more importantly your business will not be remembered.
To make creative business cards that will stand out there are a few things you can do and I'd like to discuss some of them with you below.
One thing you can try is going with clear or transparent cards. These do make a lot of impact and people tend to like to play with them and touch them because of the material. They can cost more then average cards and you will only be able to print information on one side because if you print information on both sides the person who you give it to won't be able to read it.
Another idea that some people have recently gotten into is printing wooden business cards. Sounds a bit funny doesn't it? It does, but imagine the impact you will make on new contacts when you hand them a sturdy but thin wood card.
Of course the cost of printing wood cards can also be expensive so watch out for that. You also won't be able to find shops that print them too easily but if you look around and ask questions you will!
Die cut business cards are another way to go when you want to make a nice and lasting impact on some potential business contact that you just meet. With these cards you can make rounded corners, or cut shapes into the card which all help to make it stand out. I've personally added the rounded corner look to many of the cards I have designed and the impact is truly amazing.
So no matter what business you are in make sure that you add some creative touches to your card so that it actually stands out and has meaning in the eyes of people that you meet.
