Choosing the Right Hair Color For You

Selecting the right hair color for you can be more difficult than it initially sounds. There are all kinds of things that you need to take into consideration, from your individual skin tone and eye color to the shade that your hair currently is now. For example, if your natural hair color is a dark brown, it is unlikely that you will be able to get blonde hair dye off of your drug store shelf and achieve the blonde hair color that you are going for.

Instead, if your hair color is very dark and you want it to get very light, you are probably going to have to bleach off the dark hair color, not dye it. This is because you will not be able to put enough blonde color on your natural hair color to get it light enough. Instead, you need to strip away some of your hair color, which is what bleach does.

Although most of the hair color used in salons is fairly comparable to the hair color you can buy in drug stores, having the right product is only half of the equation. To get the right hair color that you are going for, you need to have the technical expertise to know what to do to get your hair to the right shade. The shade that is on the outside of the hair color box is not necessarily what it will look like after you put it on your head, leave it on for 20 minutes and then shampoo it off.

This is because the base color of your hair makes a huge difference. For some people, if they were to try to dye their hair an ash blonde color, it would turn their hair green. Since hardly anybody wants green to be their primary hair color, it is probably best to get your hair dyed at a salon. Unless you have done it a million times and only use the same hair color each time you do it, there is just too much to chance.

Your hair is one of the first things people notice about you, and if you have the wrong hair color you could be leaving the wrong impression. Plus, when your hair color is perfect, you just feel so much better about yourself. Everyone likes to feel pretty with the right hair color you can feel gorgeous!
